Do you think after spending so much time in Ketterdam speaking only Kerch, Jesper and Inej both lose part of their vocabulary in their native languages, because they hardly get any chance to speak it anymore, and without regular practice in the language they start to lose the effortless way they spoke that language before, and have to think just a bit more before speaking to make sure what they say actually makes sense in the language they're currently speaking?
And do you think since Kerch isn't their native tongue, they already sort of do that when speaking Kerch? Do you think they get upset at times over the fact they can't really speak either language as properly as they should? Of course they speak both languages fluently, they can hold a conversation, they can do all that, but they should be able to do it more smoothly. They shouldn't have to think to make sure they use the right grammar, or "what is this word in Suli/Zemeni/Kerch again??" because they know one version but not the other
