11 november 99 -- oasis lets it out for psychedelic new video

Oasis has just filmed what its reps describe as a "trippy" new video for "Go Let It Out," the first single from the band's upcoming album, "Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants," due out in February. A spokesperson for Creation Records confirmed that the clip for "Go Let It Out" was shot with longtime band associate Nick Egan in Surrey, England last week. Egan previously directed Oasis' videos for "Supersonic" and "Live Forever," from the band's 1994 debut LP, "Definitely Maybe." According to the group's U.K. label, the new video features frontman Liam Gallagher on a "psychedelic trip" to meet up with the rest of the band, and the clips follows Liam as he meets "a bizarre cast of characters" along the way. The video for "Go Let It Out" also marks some of the first official duties for Oasis' new guitarist, Gem, who was tapped to replace Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs last month (see "Oasis Mulls December Dates In The States, Selects New Guitarist"). The band has yet to name a new bassist to fill Paul McGuigan's departed slot. In other, semi-related news, the Oasis biography, "Brothers: From Childhood To Oasis," penned by Paul Gallagher (Liam and Noel's brother) is apparently a popular read for Manchester convicts with time on their hands. Paul, who also serves as an A&R man for Creation Records, was recently informed that his "Brothers" tome was the most requested book at the library to Manchester's Strangeways prison facility.
