Hey its Patbacknitro. Normally I post dumb goofy memes and I joke around alot, however in this post I would like to talk about something that is becoming more common in modern times. Its no secret that more and more modern cartoons are portraying homosexual characters, something that has been done in the past however instead of hinting at it these shows are showing their is nothing to hide. And so far that has been a good thing. Truth be told I do have a fear when it comes to including homosexual characters in cartoons. That fear being that the characters will lose their character, and will instead become just shells that only quality is being the gay character meant to teach some lesson about being ok to be gay. So far my fear has been proven false. As shows like Gravity Falls and The Loud House take a very subtle approach with these characters. To simplify, these characters are treated as actual characters with developing personality's and fun traits that appeal to alot of people. They are much more than just being, the gay couple, which is the perfect way to portray homosexuality in Cartoons, as just normal characters. Be that as it may, their is also some other news going around the internet. Ever since the gay kissing scene in Star vs the Forces of Evil, people have been talking about how everyone is now hating the show for it. But that leaves 1 question unanswered................Who is? Everyone is talking about these mysterious people in the shadows who are hating all of this, and yet no one is. As a matter of fact everyone is praising these shows for being so bold, so then why does this rumor still float around even if everyone is praising it? Well that would lead to the a big problem with the internet in general, The need for conflict. As an experienced reviewer I can personally say that the problem lies within the very people who praise this. Too be frank, many people on the internet are just looking for some reason to fight against something. Its no secret and it has been done countless times. So when the story came out about Star vs the Forces of Evil, no one really hated it or never felt the need to complain about it. However the ones who praised this saw this and gave very low expectations to the viewers and just expected people to complain about this. And so they went ahead and said that people were complaining about this, which in turn got their friends/fans/what ever else to believe their story due to their low expectation of viewers and so they started saying the same thing. Now apparently everyone is raging about this, and yet no one really is. Now this may not seem like such a big deal, but what these people don’t know is they may be doing more damage than helping. When people praise the show, they show that the show is doing something right which in turn may lead to more of what was praised in the future, due to helping drive up ratings and such. However, when these people start making rumors about how everyone is hating this, than that will then cause some problems. Networks don’t want to alienate viewers, they want content for everyone to enjoy. However when controversial stuff like this gets hated on, networks may start to drive up censorship. And if you think that is impossible just take a look at the early 70′s.............those were dark times. So if you want to praise the show then have at it, give it all the praise you can. But don’t be making false rumors just to drive a spark in something that may ultimately lead to ruining that show for you. And if people are upset about it, just ignore them. If they hate it then they can fine a new show to watch, its that simple. Don’t start the fight, just end it. Thank you guys for listening to my rant.
