"Do you know what you say in dialect when you are feeling sad? he asked me. You say: it seems long to me. Which is to say, time does. It is the time that, when you are low, never seems to pass."
—Paolo Cognetti, The Wild Boy, 74.

14.10.2020 // i cannot keep my focus today.. might just take a couple hours off, an early afternoon break sounds pretty inviting, hopefully it’ll help and i can get cracking on some physiology work
day 14 - What are some of your study essentials?
here’s a little what’s in my pencil case:) it’s what i’d be bringing to uni if we had in person lectures... as it happens, we only have labs rn and i don’t need more than a gel pen and pencil with me, so most of these items have migrated to the drawers of my desk/pencil holders. other essentials i can’t study without include fuzzy socks, my ipad for note taking, and w a t e r (stay hydrated kids, be a hydrohomie (thanks @acadhr for expanding my vocab in the best of ways!))
25/09/19 — i want to get back to journaling this fall & here are my poor attempts :-)

working on next week's spread. i've got loads to do and i'm dreading what's going to be a stressful week. i'm trying to still put everything into perpective and not get caught up in anxiety. hoping it will turn out fine and that i will somehow be able to write and finish my essay
moved to @nienque
golden hour + thesis writing! unfortunately i haven’t made as much progress as i’d hoped yet, had a rough couple of weeks but i feel like i’m getting back into it now. still very much motivated and still really enjoying it! all in all feeling stressful yet optimistic
november 10th
treated myself to fresh figs to make my mornings just that much better. also developed a new sort of morning routine last week and since then have been starting my days with half an hour of reading, listening and writing, before it is time to go back to business (accompanied by coffee and breakfast)
homemade ginger banana bread with almond butter got me through my day of writing yesterday and I (finally!!) submitted my paper on Butcher’s Crossing and slow violence. and now, we wait (and maybe bake a new batch of banana bread)
