Black Lives Matter Creates Interactive Map Of Black-Owned Businesses

The vision is to create the largest searchable database of Black companies.

Black Lives Matter is developing an online interactive map of Black-owned businesses in partnership with ad agency J. Walter Thompson New York, the Huffington Post reports.

The Google maps-based directory currently lists more than 300 businesses nationwide. When it’s completed by the end of 2017, it will include nonprofits and online stores.

Black World War I Hero Finally Gets Full Recognition for His Valor

President Obama will award the Medal of Honor to Henry “Black Death” Johnson 86 years after his death.

Henry Johnson, just 5 feet 4 and weighing 130 pounds, is a towering figure in American military history. France awarded Johnson the Croix de Guerre, that nation’s highest military honor, in 1918. Yet he died a forgotten man back home.

That will soon change. President Barack Obama will posthumously award Johnson America’s highest award for valor in combat, the Medal of Honor, on Tuesday, according to a White House press release.
