Night Thief || Lucretia and Holly
Lucretia knew she needed to get out of the habit of these night walks. They were dangerous, particularly in this area of Belladonna that reeked of liquor and other unpleasant scents. She pulled the hood of her cloak farther over her head, keeping her wits about her as she walked. The night air chilled her bones, but stimulated her mind. And what she needed now more than ever was to think.
It was the art of appearing confident when truly Lucretia had nothing to be confident about. Her cheek was mottled purple from a bruise, courtesy of her brother Tybalt. As snow began to fall from the sky, the icy flakes stuck to her face, soothing the throbbing pain. There was no shortage of pain in this place. Hobs dominated rather than Sidhe, their sullen faces lacking the ethereal beauty Lucretia was used to. It occurred to her that although she shared their pain, she was very much an outsider. I want to help, she wished she could say.
Lucretia perked up, feeling something rustle behind her. Her heart pounded as she whipped around, clutching the thick cloth of her cloak. It was nothing. Was it?
