This book right here is a fantastic example of the perfect mixture of a captivating story and steamy romance. I loved the characters of both Tess and Shade, and of course Bonk, and their chemistry together was so much fun to read, especially their silly little flirtatious teasing.

There are a couple of reasons I didn't give this book a full five stars, the first being it got a little grating that Tess and Shade constantly commented on how attractive they found each other. Seriously, every single time they laid eyes on each other they did nothing but think about how sexy the other person was. I assume it was done to create a sort of palpable sexual tension between them, but it got a little annoying after a while.

The second reason is that I felt like the world building and backstories/character development for all characters other that Tess and Shade was a little lacking. I would have loved more detailed world building, more detail about the different sectors and so on and I really wanted to know more about the crew. Their pasts, where they'd come from, the full story behind how they ended up on the Endeavor, and how much they'd changed since the day they all ended up on the ship. I would also have loved to know more about Tess and Shade's pasts as well, as it was we really only got to hear about the absolutely essential parts of it.

Apart from those things I really did enjoy this book and I'll definitely be continuing the series when the next one comes out, and not only that but I'll be looking into reading more of Amanda Bouchet's books as well!

My Review: 5/5 Stars

I loved Amanda Bouchet's The Kingmaker's Chronicles, so I of course had to pick up her newest book. And I'm so glad I did! Bouchet takes us to space and where Tess Bailey and her crew are on the run. After stealing cargo with an enhancer that would turn people into super soldiers, Tess is determined to keep it away from the Overseer. A tyrant hell-bent on getting the cargo back. After a narrow escape, they find themselves on a planet where they can rest and fix their ship. Shade Ganavan is the man for the job. The chemistry between Shade and Tess is off the charts, that is until he realizes that Tess is number one on the bounty list and she is worth quite a lot of money if taken in. Shade has been trying to earn back his family's empire and bringing in Tess will finally allow him to do so. But the more he spends time with her, the hard that decision becomes for him to betray her. Can he betray the one person he actually feels a connection to after losing everyone he loved? And Tess has her own secrets. The lies and secrets between them, threaten to spill. Action packed, awesome characters, and a story line that has you wanting more, Nightchaser was a great sci-fi book and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
