DISHEARTENED GLANCES are offered whenever he was paired with someone that brought a sting to those memories. They were pleasant in a solemn hymn, but bring no comfort of its ending in the knight’s eyes. He left with cruelty...cursed out unforgiving words that he wished to take back. Even if CHALDEA offers its own king he shall serve, the LANCER remained bound to bitter recollection whenever he saw that face. A noble king of knights who roamed around the hallways didn’t seem to glance back or pulled a tiny look. Was she bearing a familiar sentiment over what happened during the GRAIL WAR? DIARMUID wouldn’t blame her should anger, absolute disappointment in this knight’s shame, was preventing her from speaking out. It’d be nice if things were how they began during their last time of crossing blades together. With a recent nudge by their MASTER themselves, he proceeded to search for her.
THE NERVOUS FEELING ate away at DIARMUID’S chest, uncertain if this was a wise decision on his part. It might be difficult to receive rejection from ever speaking with her but the knight shall obey loyally. He won’t disrespect a king...not in the past, nor the present with their time as SERVANTS. Finally the golden king stands before his gaze and he approaches her slowly. LANCER couldn’t help but crouch on a single knee, being affected by the charisma and respect he still carried for this warrior. “Forgive me if this is sudden but...I’ve noticed we have not spoken a single word together since my king summoned us. Do you still remember what happened during that war? If not, pardon me for intruding on you SABER.” Did she chose to not remember that war?

She knew there were always choices to make. Both of them had made plenty involving each other, ones that had caused the other great emotional pain.
And for her it was difficult to discern what she should do, how much Elizabeth could trust him knowing that the deception had still happened whether Ciel had done them purposefully to hurt her or not. Even now, Elizabeth didn’t even know how she should refer to him aloud or in her own mind. Knowing that it wasn’t her original fiancé, Ciel Phantomhive that survived, but the younger twin there in front of her now, Elizabeth still couldn’t fully wrap her mind around it.
Even now, Elizabeth didn’t know what to call him. Calling him by either name almost didn’t seem right when Aster had left that identity behind and had taken on the moniker of Ciel to take his brothers place. Her feelings for Aster were real, were still there. Only now they were almost overshadowed by the hurt of betrayal and the shock of learning that the boy she’d actually been engaged to was no longer living and who she had been seeing again was a fallacy brought on by a shinigami.
And that hurt was still very visible in emerald green eyes that were struggling to hold back tears as she watched Ciel’s jaw clench and he tried to keep his own emotions in check. Her arms were still tight around herself, holding both her arms almost to try and keep herself from falling apart from the uncertainty.
“That is the problem though. Yes you did only lie to me about being Ciel, but taking your brothers place came with so many other layers of what you lied to me about after you came home and began that lie. How am I supposed to feel knowing that the boy I loved was never here, and my feelings for you are blurred by who I thought you were? I still love you, but I don’t even know what name to call you by now that I know the truth.”

“People like what?” Satoru interjected, feeling heat rise in his chest. His voice rose. “Like the old lady who sold fruit down the street? Like everyone minding their own business, going about life? Like Riko? Like your parents?”
“What makes you think you have the right to say anything like that?”

The cambion yelps as he was lifted by the front of his cloak. His life had value huh? Even if he was deemed a scoundrel by so many, his life had some worth. “I understand now...” He was injured and his healing factor was stunted due to what injured him.
“After so long you see something in me don’t you?” he asked quietly. “Now then, you can scold me for my foolhardy recklessness after we get out of here.” A weak laugh escapes him. To hear that much out someone like the Lancer well that really made Merlin think about things for a moment

─「ヴァイオレット」─ the words from the naval captain immediately caught her attention. azure hues lifted from the book within her hand, and gaze landed upon the other with quiet blink. a smile. the AUTO MEMORIES DOLL could recall back to the day she would be puzzled over the simple word. it was an act common to humans, after all. yet, it took the blonde quite a while to understand the need to do so. even now, she still wasn’t sure if she had managed to grasp it fully.
“ does that realization bother you, captain ? ” it must have been, right ? or else why would he strike a conversation on such topic. her gloved hand came to touch the corner of her lips with a single digit, pondering over the idea of it. “ people smile when they are delighted, or experiencing happiness, don’t they ? perhaps ... i do not have a strong reason to do so often. ” or if at all. not to say she wasn’t happy, or maybe being content would be more accurate way to describe her. a blink, before her eyes lifted to meet his lime hues once more.
“ captain, do you wish to see a smile from me ? ”

"Nothing,” Satoru scowled, his face lit by the dimming glow of his phone-screen. 12AM. Two new messages. He tossed the device down and let it land amongst the haphazard tangle of sheets he’d neglected to attend to prior to his departure.
“- except running to the store now to get me a new pack of that sour candy that someone took when I was out on a mission." He couldn’t shoulder this indignity. Nobody stole from Gojo Satoru and got away with it.
“Don’t lie! Your stupid residuals are everywhere.”
