Hello!! Thank you for the ask, sorry for the late reply!
It's hard to say whether or not these scenes are my favorites because I... haven't gotten far enough to have written them yet, so I can give you the favorite that's written so far, and then the one I'm looking forward to the most. In some cases, I have worldbuilding done but haven't actually started the story! :D!
Apex!
Current: have not started, except for a shit ton of world building, like a ludicrous amount of world building
Theoretical: hmm, one of the ones I'm looking forward to the most is,, a spoiler,, so? I think it would be when General Volkov will be officially brought into the story? Until this scene, he's been off-screen, characterized by memories, rumors, and political importance... and then shows up on the college campus and full on tries to murder one of his sons and drag the other back to their country. He's not a pleasant man. But his entrance fucks, a snowstorm starting to roll in on a perfectly clear day and then craggy outcroppings of ice jutting out to trap folks in the murder arena.
Implausible Deniability
Current: My current favorite scene is actually the opening? I am only in chapter 2, but the book opens with the protagonist, Sal, screaming in his car because he's anxious about introducing his partner to his parents. They discuss zucchini bread. To sound super arrogant, I think it does a good job of establishing their characters really fast.
Theoretical: I am SO looking forward to writing the first big fight between Sal and the villain, Mara. Mara is a fuckin theater kid ass motherfucker, and he's well aware of the role he's playing, so he plays it up? Possesses the body of the local news reporter and then challenges Sal to a fight, starting off talking like he is Ms. Annemarie Tate. Hello, End's Nigh, this is your Annemarie Tate reporting to you live from the city square! Here I have with me, the Chosen One, Salvatore de Luca! Now tell me, Sal, how does it feel to know I'm about to claw out your insides and wear your body like a trophy cape?
Nightindale
Current: I have actually gotten some mileage in this one! My favorite scene so far has been when Deacy and Fox visit the al-Zahir home for the first time and have to deal with the only IV who will ever showcase his bitchiness right out in the open. Man appears in three of these stories (not the same guy, just the same character. I love him.) but this is the one that he will grimace and call someone an appalling excuse for an idiot.
Theoretical: Mm, looking forward to the warehouse fight? Get to see Deacy, Fox, and Constantine fight together. Deacy and Fox have already done some fighting before this, since they encounter Puppy I, but you don't see Connie fight until the three of them are faced with Puppy II and Puppy III. Unfortunately, I have to emphasize that they do NOT win this fight. Nearly kills one of them and gets another kidnapped.
Root Rot
Current: :') nothing yet, just world building... well, I do have a scene written, actually. Where our lovely Prince Peregrine is trying to escape a library while the evil mage Aldric is trying to hunt him down. He almost succeeds and then gets impaled several times (it's an illusion), and has to rip himself away from the illusion (by forcing himself to move against the spears, letting them rip until his mind. Processes they're not real) to escape... I am. Not kind to Peregrine. Good lad.
Theoretical: as much as I look forward to the scene early on where Grins discovers the god staked in the basement of his castle, I am very much looking forward to when the god is revived. When the god that solves your problems isn't fully dues ex machina, because there was never a wall backed into, reviving it was the plan all along.
Name TBD (I call it Ghost Truckers for now)
Current: you guessed it! :)! Nothing!
Theoretical: 100% the scene where the fools involved are trying to exorcise the Big Bad Poltergeist, and have to maneuver each room of the house being distorted in some way-- proportions out of whack, rotating, gravity adjusted, inverted... ...bonus, I am looking forward to introducing Cassio Trucket's Fuck It Bucket.
Divine Interventions
Current: tbh I have had the protagonist for this story in my head for? Two decades genuinely? And his story has morphed a lot. I haven't done any officially writing for it, but I am fully aware of the plot. So?
Theoretical: I am very much looking forward to the climax of the story, but I can't tell you about that, so I will share I am alternately looking forward to my sweet little bard getting kidnapped rescued by pirates from the ship he paid to board, which turned out to be actual smugglers and traffickers, because the pirate captain is a very heroic lesbian who thought he was a pretty, young girl. She contemplated throwing him overboard since her ship is women only (ship full of wlw who have been abused by the men in their lives), but ultimately he gets to stay because he's. Freddie. It's near impossible not to like that guy.
Thank you!!! For the ask!! I am sorry for the delay!! Enjoy all this!! I hope!!
Happy New Years! (Although it kinda looks more valentiney that’s okay)
In this new year I plan on actually working on the story these two belong to. That being said. Some main(ish) characters.
