i’ve been playing Digimon Cyber Sleuth on switch lately (well, before animal crossing times lol) and i’ve really enjoyed it so far!

my brain immediately looked at that set of words and went “there’s a Megaman Battle Network on Switch?” and no. no. two different things. just very similar cadences.

this scene is one of a few that definitely felt like it was written with a dragoon WoL in mind �� although i can’t remember if there was any alternate dialogue when i went through it on my dragoon alt…

This made me remember that Yoshi-P promised at Fan Fest Las Vegas that he and the team would look into much more nonlinear options for cutscenes - for instance, having certain dialogue options depend on your character’s current job.

Having studied the mechanics of ludic and multicursive literature at great length for the last year, I know how truly difficult and time-consuming it is to create good, meaningful nonlinearity in any medium. But if the XIV team could pull it off, that would make for an incredible Final Fantasy game.

THEY NEED TO HANG OUT MORE... i think once aghurlal’s premier memory of robyn isn’t “oh my god this person is so gullible” his perceptions will start to shift 😂

like... his tribe didn’t assign adulthood based on chronological age - they assigned it based on completion of training, with the coming-of-age moment being making a kill during a raid. so Naïve Person Who Doesn’t Know Anything, Easily Taken In By Tricks basically equates to “still a kid” in Aghurlal’s mind, even if the person’s all grown up in terms of biology - because such a person wouldn’t have been allowed on a raid until they’d sharpened up

(fun facts: due to this, aghurlal was still considered “a child” up until the night he left his tribe, despite being in his mid 20′s at the time. also, this system is the reason why aghurlal doesn’t know his own age - they never kept count)

...if he sees robyn destroying stuff with magic or smth, he’ll probably change his view >_>

admittedly i’ve only been doing tabletop for like a month or so but each post u make about this campaign has me dying of jealousy again and again *0*

aww, i’m sure my dm would be super happy to hear that! it’s an incredible campaign and it’s all thanks to all the work they’ve put in it, i feel super lucky to be a part of it.
