#storytime Part 1- The Beginning: so this is a cover I did of #nemo by @nightwishband and I want to tell you today why it is that this song is one of my all time favorites and why I cover it over and over again. Though this particular recording is not my best performance of this and I plan to remake it in my style eventually, this song is one of the driving forces behind my music. This particular song is about being lost, afraid, and not knowing what path to take and feeling outcasted by society. And to be honest, this is something I felt for about 3/4 of my life. When it came to my desire to sing, at first I was told that I shouldn’t. After a courageous first time performance of my voice in a talent show on a cruise ship made people notice my voice, I immediately started to pursue it. This was almost a decade and a half ago! I was motivated. But then people began to try and force me in different directions than what I wanted, mostly saying I should stick to opera and pop. I tried... and I tried sooooo hard, but opera was the one I chose. Eventually, after years of boring pop music, I heard another song, Ever Dream, playing in my brothers room. I immediately asked who it was and when I heard about #nightwish I immediately pursued to research this magical music I heard. This is how I became seduced into the world of Symphonic Metal.
