man I love learning the reasons for chemical names I would say "it's so fun" but I'm literally talking about nuclear reactor disasters here, which are not very fun funnily enough Nihonium's new design is a lot more faithful to his original Ununtrium design than the later flagcat design

Nihonium is named after the Japanese name for Japan, Nihon, and home of Riken, the institute credited with its discovery. Despite being in the same group as thallium, calculations predict that it is less reactive than thallium.
