Hello Amy! Question for a nail polish enthusiast, what do you do to make your nail polish last longer and prevent it from chipping? Any tips? Mine's pretty much ruined the next day, it just keeps chipping. :( Do you use some type of top coat or base coat?

hiiiii sorry for taking like two days to answer this :') i usually change mine once a week anyway so longevity isn't a Huge issue for me, but i always use some kind of top coat. pretty much all of my favorite top coats are by essie (this one is my favorite and this one is my second favorite) but tbh pretty much any top coat will help at least a little with longevity.

seche vite and seche vive are also really good but it's been awhile since i've used them. i think my only real complaint with seche vite was that sometimes it will just peel off completely (sometimes this is a good thing tbh but usually not lmao) but seche vive is a lot more like a normal top coat, just ssssuuuper shiny and glossy looking :')

i actually don't typically use base coats unless my nail gets damaged and needs ridge filler, but i think some people use base coats allllll the time, so it might help? i'm not really sure haha
