Listen in.“ Sometime around 1997 I read something about Nils Petter Molvaer in "JazzThing". If I remember correctly, not only a review, but also a detailed report. As a matter of fact, I bought the CD without listening to it. The description of the music made me more than curious. Jazz in combination with electronica? Sounds good. And it was. That's it. Since then, I have been a passionate "completist" when it comes to NPM. Whereby the significance of "Khmer" and its direct successor "Solid Ether" could not be diminished by any of the other releases. ECM could not bring themselves (for decades) to release this masterpiece on record. Fortunately, the time had come in 2019. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to ask ECM directly about a re-release of "Solid Ether". Unfortunately, not planned for the time being. Back to "Khmer". I can ALWAYS listen to this record. Loud. Quietly. When I feel good. When I feel bad. I find this combination so incredibly successful. The electronica, with Molvaer's trumpet playing. This "breathing". Den norske jazzmusikern Nils Petter Molvaer släpper ny singel Nearly invisible Stitches  Den norske jazzmusikern, trumpetaren, kompositör och producent är känd för sin blandning av olika musikstilar – jazz, ambient, house, Electric och breakbeats, liksom element från hiphop, rock och popmusik. Den 11 juni släpper han den nya singeln Nearly Invisible Stitches som är hämtad ifrån hans kommande album Stitches som släpps den 27 augusti.

Nils Petter Molvaer är en av de mest framstående namnen inom en elektroakustisk, improviserad, komponerad och musikalisk hybrid som har blivit en egen genre sedan 1990-talet. I den här domänen, ibland kallad Framtida jazz eller Nu jazz, är den norska kompositören både en pionjär och en veteran. Han har varit en av de första jazzmusikerna som anammade de nya digitala och elektroniska trenderna.

Nils Petter Molvaer har, sedan 90-talet, varit det tyngsta namnet inom nyjazzen och betraktas som en pionjär inom så kallad Future jazz, en genre som fogar ihop jazz med elektronisk musik. Nils Petter Molvaer släppte sitt första soloalbum Khmer på ECM 1998 och har under sin karriär bidragit till över 150 album. Han har turnerat världen över i många år och har tilldelats flera norska musikpriser såsom Spellemannprisen (1997), Gammleng-prisen (1998) och  Buddyprisen (2003).

Hans nya album Stitches är hans 16e soloalbum. Den har spelats in under Coronapandemin, vilket gjort att det varit svårt att få en kontinuitet under inspelningsperioden. Albumet har spelats in i mer än 4 musikstudios över hela Norge. Mer än någonsin tidigare har musikerna fått full konstnärlig frihet, vilket gör albumet till ett gemensamt projekt med de inblandade musikerna. Albumet handlar mycket om att lita på andra människor och att ge utrymme till att låta andra människor lysa.

Nu är det dags för den första singeln Nearly Invisible Stitches som släpps 11 juni och albumet Stitches den 27 augusti.
