My current nails. This is called Spring-kles by Nine Zero Lacquer, a one-woman indie brand from Michigan. It’s a bright white crelly (half-way between a creme formulation and a sheerer jelly) with a ton of matte glitters of various sizes and colours. This is three coats with two of top coat.
Nine Zero polishes are often on the thicker side, and this was super thick, so I ended up adding quite a bit of thinner to it to make it easier to use. That means it’s not as opaque, but crellies often look better with multiple coats anyway so you can see the layering effect of the glitters.
This and Robin’s Egg from the same brand are the first polishes I’ve bought back-up bottles of. Indie polishes tend to be limited edition and can be hard to reliably find a while after they’ve been released, so if you fall in love with one be sure to think about whether you’ll still want to be wearing it in a few years time and stock up accordingly!
In other nail polish news, I’ve finally established a lemming list (a list of must-haves that may or may not be hard to find), although there’s only one polish on it so far, and that’s Game Over by Cirque Colors. It was in last year’s Vice collection, and is a stunning neon red. I’ve managed to get hold of Fame and Extra from that collection, but can’t find Game Over anywhere. I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed it (there’s a Russian website that has the full set but I only want that oneeeeeeeeeee.............)
