Winters in my hometown of Pittsburgh found us kids exploring the wooded area near my neighborhood. Frick Park and Nine Mile Run, the water runoff creek through it, gave us all kinds of adventures. We put on knee-high boots to walk through feet-deep snow, accumulated all winter without any chance of melting. Eventually we could walk on the frozen creek (without our parents knowing) until once when a friend fell through and we had a long walk back with frozen feet. It was a sensory kick to be the first one to walk through the pristine areas of snow, crunching the top crust as we marched through and looking back and seeing our marks that we had visited. This 9” x 12” oil reminds me of those winter days. #snowylandscape #winterscene #pittsburghgirl #ninemilerun #frickpark #longshadows #modernlandscape #simplepleasures #asmr #marykamerer (at Dilworth Artisan Station) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4vPFvoppOU/?igshid=19wuzbm5daoir
