I love following people who go off and do their own thing with random fandoms and hobbies that I would never encounter. I am watching a complete stranger play with a landline phone like it’s a Barbie doll. The world is beautiful and I’m so happy for you and Oliver
Hey, could I request a gif of that scene where momakase has Obake at knifepoint? I haven't seen anyone else make it yet, and I know people thought it was badass. Idk how requests for this stuff really work but if you have time I'd like to see that (this is muirahara-woods btw, in case you needed to know)
Ohh thanks for the request. I was gonna gif that scene once the episode came out in 1080p!
🌹Kanaya Maryam! (Sending this twice, sorry for any repeats)
Here she is: Kanaya feat. fanfic flower disease
(quick disclaimer: i am only a Secondhand Homestuck and therefore don't actually know all that much abt Homestuck Things, so This might not be totally visually accurate, but hey, I had fun making it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Browsed through your Other Skies blog and I like the idea of the Kokoro! I’m assuming what they originally looked like is left up to interpretation. Do they tend to stick to “anthropomorphic” bodies or are there some that are just like. A space ship
Yes and yes! Kokoro bodies can look like anything-- a spaceship is not unheard of! Many Kokoro prefer bodies that match the standard "two arms / two legs / one head" model, but just as many have unorthodox bodies designed for their specific circumstances. A Kokoro can also change their body multiple times throughout their life, according to their current needs or even the planet they may be living on.
The Kokoro, as a race, are so old that they have actually lost the knowledge of what their bodies used to look like. As a result, the strange, changing nature of Kokoro bodies kind of hearkens back to their search for their original selves. A Kokoro body honestly has only one limit: has to fit a brain in there.
I can't remember if this is on the other blog (so sorry for repeating if it is), but there actually hasn't been a "new" Kokoro in centuries. When a Kokoro dies of natural causes, their brain is removed from their robotic body and chemically processed so that it's reverted to a "blank slate" state. This ""new"" brain becomes a ""baby"" Kokoro. As you might have gathered, this means that if any single Kokoro dies in a way that damages their brain, then one Kokoro is removed from the population forever. So the population isn't that large now; the Kokoro overall are dwindling. They're also, without exaggeration, billions of years old, so it's a lot.
Sorry I went off on a tangent there. I hope that sated your curiosity and thanks for asking!
Tell me more about Zairs
Zairs are insectoid mammals that live in large, tight-knit communities that generally have nothing to do with blood relations. Zairs believe that it is everyone's responsibility to raise the next generation, and that children are intelligent, thoughtful, and capable of solving problems on their own. This leads to a social structure where blood parents almost never raise their own children, but rather the children are raised communally. The children are taught life skills as soon as possible, and are given opportunities to be independent from a young age so that they might be more self-sufficient in adulthood. Despite this, community is a core value to many Zairs, and it's an unspoken ironclad rule that if someone asks you for help, you help them. No questions asked.
Another key feature about Zairs is that they do not experience (or conceptualize) time in a linear way; they consider lives to flow in a spiral shape, where sometimes one "curls" back into times that one had previously lived through. A weak analogy for this is like returning to an interest every few years and feeling just the same way about it each time. Zairs call these pools of time "lariats" and will often explain themselves by saying, "I'm in a creative lariat right now," or "I'm in a challenging lariat once again." As a result of this, Zair life schedules can be a little more fluid than other species'; it's more common to switch careers, hobbies, and even partners every few years rather than to stick with one for life.
As this implies, Zairs are usually not "monogamous" in the way we think. Zairs will have on-and-off relationships with up to several people at a time, usually alternating based upon what lariat they are in. On Palazair, it's generally understood that one will fall in and out of love with many people over one lifetime, and as a result most Zairs are far more accepting of breakups, strange relationships, and changed feelings. This principle applies to platonic relationships as well, and even to familial ones.
This is more about the planet than the people, but I always like to add that Palazair is home to a uniquely large number of venomous, poisonous, and otherwise dangerous species. This includes flora and fauna alike; Palazair's beautiful rainforests cover a large portion of the available landmass, and these rainforests are known to be too dangerous to traverse without a guide. Having said this, Zairs are of course well aware of which poisonous plants are the tastiest in food, which venomous animals can be safely prepared, and which brightly-colored leaves not to touch with even the tips of their antennae.
Speaking of antennae, Zairs use them to smell and to detect other chemicals in the air! Additionally, their thick furry coats act as a main part of their immune system, helping them to filter out harmful microbes and other contaminants. This is no joke; a shaved Zair could become sick enough to die. In some Zair religions, shaving the fur off one's head is used as a grave penance for sin, exposing the sinner to potential illness until it grows back.
This was a long jumble of sort-of related fun facts, but I hope it sated your curiosity and/or piqued your interest! And thank you for asking!
