the ninjago fortnite collab and specifically the discourse surrounding it is pissing me off specifically because people are once again trying to say nya and lloyd aren’t part of the main team. lloyd’s been a ninja since s1 and nya since s5 which came out in 2015. THAT WAS TEN YEARS AGO. THEYVE BOTH BEEN PART OF THE TEAM LONGER THAN THEY HAVENT I HATEEEEE OG4-ONLYS THIS IS NOT A SAFE SPACE FOR OG4-ONLYS !!!!!!

I wish that dragon rising had implied that Jay killed someone,during his bounty hunters times,rouge times,not just stealing things,it would have made things way more interesting,how would the ninja feel about it,seeing their old friend be like this.

Making him more then just jerk and asshole,not having the story stop him from killing,they could have done with shadow work,of Jay killing someone.

The right wing Ninjago accounts on Twitter keep getting funnier and funnier to witness since what do you mean Misako 'knows her place' meanwhile Nya (showing her DR picture) is 'unfaithful to her husband'. Have we been watching the same show?

Ninjago Dragons Rising is awesome!!

I'll admit that I wasn't too excited about the new cast additions, which is probably what made me take this long to finally get to watching it, but now I'm glad I did.

Sora and Arin are actually really fun and endearing characters, and I absolutely love their dynamic!! They really made their friendship the most wholesome <3

I also loved the references to old lore... man I don't know how I didn't see this season, whose whole premise is the merging of the 16 Realms, bringing back old locations like the Cloud Kingdom and the Realm of Madness!! I actually really enjoyed that lol.

One thing I did find to be off is their total bebafflement over how dragons boost elemental power... Like I understand it hasn't been straightforwardly stated before, but we've definitely had instances of dragons influencing or being somewhat related to elemental power before right? I mean, the 1st spinjitzu master was literally from the Realm of Oni and Dragons (which now that I think of it,,, how come they never bring that one up... I feel they're ignoring the lore set by s8-10)

Anyway, the dialogue and dynamic between the new characters and the old cast is actually really natural too! I loved seeing Lloyd taking the role of master seriously. It really suits him now that he's actually got younger people to teach haha.

The new villains were... well, they're no Garmadon, but they're kinda cool. I like the Chima-lookin guy, he seems to be hiding something. The empress is 😳 but she didn't have nearly enough screen time lol. Everyone else meets the ninjago henchmen standards so they're still funny lol.

AaaaAAH I can't wait for the rest of the season!!! I actually love Ninjago again.

My Two Cents on the Current State of the Ninjago Fandom

I normally don’t get into fandom discourse, and I know, I hope, this will blow over in a week like all the other messes did, but godDAMN it got ugly this time. I just wanted to make a quick short semi-rant post but it turned out I got a lot more to say.

Yall are really aspring to become the Junior Voltron Fandom, huh?

Pythor-whomstever, I don’t know you and I don’t care for you, but I want you, and everyone participating in this anti mess, to know: you had no right to make a fandom blacklist like that. You may think you’re doing the lord’s work because “ohohoh gotta weed out all the nasties” but in reality you’re only dividing an already fractured fandom even more.

You have the right to block, you have the right to ignore whatever and whoever makes you uncomfortable. Be my guest. And I don’t mean this just at Pythor, I mean this at everyone. 

But you do NOT have the right to put half the fandom on an open blocklist, essentially setting a witchhunt after people mindign their own business, SPECIALLY if you put people on it left and right on your whims. You’re going to add people who “are just generally creepy”. Really? Entering that vague slipperly slope there I see.

People, even non-shippers, are considering leaving the fandom because of this terror atmosphere you created. I hope you and everyone else who took a part in this are proud of yourselves. I hope you are proud, hope you’ll sleep well tonight, and god I HOPE, in the future, if you still remember, when you look back at this ugly mess you created you’ll drown in the shame, embarassment and cringe you deserve. 

Because shame on you. You don’t have the right to ruin REAL, LIVING people’s mood, whole day, even their week, over some stupid fictional plastic legos. Do you have any idea how many genuielly upset people I talked to today? You didn’t have the right to do that.

I’m always open to having a conversation about different opinions, I’m here to listen, but until you’re ready to have a normal conversation, until you learn to grow, and be better, stay in your fucking lane.

Fandom is supposed to be fun, a place where people with a common interest come together to create and talk about what they love. And if they don’t agree on something move on, don’t like don’t read, agree to disagree.

Live and Let Live.

Can’t we just go back to this simple principle?

As for those of you who aren’t taking a part in this anti mess, thank you, you’re the real MVPs, thank you for having the common sense to be reasonable about this. Keep it up.

And specifically to the people on the list, and the people negatively affected by this whole thing in any shape or form: You’ll get through this, the fandom will get through this, it’ll blow over, it always does. It’ll be alright, just keep being awesome until then!

To the people who do care/have seen it: I’m fine, my brain’s a bit scrambled at the moment but I really appreciate everyone’s kind words and messages. I just want to say I have never once gone out of my way to attack/harass grnflm shippers, and I don’t want to associate with this incident at all. I won’t be making any more comments/additions to this, I’m doing alright personally and don’t want to be involved with any more shipping problems in the future. Thank you to the people who supported me, it genuinely means the world 💕

If anyone’s wondering, Sy//reok has since apologized through DMs. I’m not going to pretend like what they said was okay, but please don’t harass/send hate to them or anyone else, regardless of what they ship.

My Thoughts on the Ninjago Fandom

Okay so I've been in the Ninjago fandom a long time and in that time I haven't really socialised with anyone, just because I'm not really a social person. (But if you want to, please come and talk to me, I'm shy.)

However, on occasion I do come across discourse within the fandom, though less so nowadays. I don't know whether that is because there is less of it (though I kinda doubt this) or whether I'm no longer actively watching it.

Either way, it's kinda sad that, in a fandom that only a few years ago was considered one of the only discourse free fandoms, there is so much goddamn bickering.

At the end of the day some of you need to grow up and stop attacking people over what is essentially a children's TV show about legos.

I am not saying that you don't have a right or a responsibility to call people out on toxic and damaging behaviour, because you do. But some of the things that you lot go off over is ridiculous.

While I haven't really spoken to anyone within the fandom for years, I can still honestly say that I miss the days before the fandom was just a puddle of angst. Honestly, while I don't remember it entirely, I'm pretty sure it all started with the greenflame war that happened around Christmas time a few years back. While, at the time, I remember being mildly amused yet also perturbed by the behaviour of various fandom members at the time, I never thought it'd give rise to this.

So my take away from it all is that people need to grow up and think about what the consequences will be for their online actions in regard to themselves or others. I am not in any way saying that I myself am not guilty of a similar thing, nor trying to impress upon you some kind of holier than thou attitude. I just ask that people think about what they're saying before they say it and that they cut out all the infantile rubbish.

Yes, I am referring to that goddamn block list. In all honesty it reads like a 12 year old kid asking all their friends to stop talking to someone because they don't like them. It's bullying and it is greatly damaging. Deliberate exclusion is a form of bullying in that you are isolating someone socially because of something they ship!

While greenflame does have it's issues and I, personally do not ship it. There are better ways to go about it! Tumblr has a blacklist function! Block the bloody tag if you don't want to see it. Block the users themselves if you want. But don't put them on a list like some kind of wanted criminal!

The fact that people are now leaving the fandom because of this is ridiculous. It is bullying and quite frankly, while I don't know how old any of you perpetrators are, you're acting like a group of 12 year Olds with your mob mentality. Grow up.

Thanks to anyone who read all that. I apologise for all the "goddamns" and "bloody's", in order to properly convey my feelings on the subject I wished to use profanity, but was trying to keep it somewhat clean.
