I was not expecting to cry over Egalt and Rontu but here we are.

He's waiting for her. He doesn't want to cross over without her at his side. And he's giving Morro some much needed support in the meantime. (Honestly, Egalt and Morro is an incredible duo that should absolutely be explored more, not least because they have the same voice actor.)

But then, when Rontu does join him, despite how clearly overjoyed he is to see her, Egalt helps her return to the world of the living. He sees how much more she has to offer and he gives her the strength to keep going, even if it means they have to stay separated for a little while longer.
