is it still codependency if one person’s dead and the other is just coping really badly
hey i might be thinking about nitet a lot
Re: the ‘wondering why my YGO followers specifically followed me’ thing, I know I JUST got here, but the thing that made me follow was the milkposting. I’m not sure how to say this elegantly, but there’s a very particular brand of Weird that I like but have a difficult time finding or describing; that’s like, “the weird of the mundane”, or something. No twee, overblown ~oooo isn’t that sooo wacky, isn’t that sooo strange, oooo~ performing from an author or artist trying desperately to convince me as the viewer that they’re a visionary eccentric; just Mundane objects or materials or whatever behaving/presenting/being invoked in a distinctly NON-mundane way, thus prompting the impulse to look again and linger and marvel in a way one usually wouldn’t. I also like it when this particular flavor is presented in a way that’s just kind of like ‘so yeah, this is happening, this is the baseline being established within the bounds of this particular work, and no, it doesn’t need an explanation; it just Is. Roll with it.’
In sum, I saw a milkpost, and was essentially like ‘I don’t know what all we’re doing at this table just yet, but I sure am going to pull up a chair.’
milkposting…damn…really would’ve thought i’d lose followers for that rather than gain them lol
for some amount of context for milkposting (bc i don’t remember if i mentioned it during said milkposting) the whole milk thing is actually from an as-of-yet-unposted chapter of nitet, which is basically just me fucking around with vessel-based body horror. not sure if that really counts as something mundane presented as non-mundane? but.
idk i guess i do kinda just pick a thing and make it body horror when i get bored sometimes. never thought about it as making the mundane weird!
writing nitet is so funny in a kind of painful way because it’s like. okay. i’m writing some really sensual scenes here but i’m still wanting to retain the ambiguity of “is this actual typical romantic/sexual attraction that only presented itself after the fact or is this something else and yugi’s subconscious just doesn’t know how to process it in a way which isn’t typical romantic/sexual attraction”
which is difficult enough as is but then some shit alluding to something like breastfeeding slides in and does a pose which perfectly fits the prompt and i’m like. god okay yeah that makes sense. sure. no one’s gonna pick up on the ambiguity though. like this is really a step in the wrong direction on that one.
and then i have to do it anyway because it really does fit the prompt perfectly
sorry hi i might have gotten a little excited about milk there. oops.
really glad the milk chapter isn’t the one i’m posting tonight. i think it would just be embarrassing to post that directly after complaining about how many people give atem his own body just to do sexual/romantic things y’know
i ❤️ writing weird makeout scenes
