12/10/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 19/100
Laundry, dissertation reading, friends birthday drinks.
Somewhat lazy day today, morning trip to M Courts for cording. I thought this would be an easy quite trip but was wrong.. oh so wrong. An NFL game was happening so there were fans everywhere on all the transport I was taking, it was super overcrowded and ahhhhhhh
But I made it home with my 100 meter roll of size 1 cording safe and sound. Totally caught a cold and I’m blaming the Northern Line.

Dissertation tutorial in the morning, still not sure if it was helpful or not.. In the afternoon I flatlined all of the taffeta bodices pieces to the lining. The same was done to the sleeve but additional information was transferred that correspond with the smocking layout. I was uber sick after finishing this and went home for an early night.

In the morning I graded out the smocking onto the lining, this took a ridiculous amount of time due to the small (8mm) thickness that the smocking is sized to. In the afternoon I was able to start smocking the sleeve using the silk thread, I spent roughly five hours on it today and got seven rows of smocking sewn, the only reason I stopped was because my hands were getting clammy and was having difficulty pulling the needle through.
My tutor came over to check on my progress today and said she was extremely pleased with my progress and work thus far. I think I’m the only student cutting/working top fabrics right now so I’m kind of the favourite child right now.
*Pictured is my finished toile, the skirt length is shortened as to not waste fabric and unfortunately I was dumb and didn't put the vandyke on the left side so it badly visible in the picture. The pattern is taken directly from an original dress so it does not fit the stand it is on, the pattern cutting on the bodice is a little weird buuuuut I’ve made it up as instructed by the comp guidelines so heyho
