White leftists are over focused on attack. This is something we see everywhere but here right now it is palpable with the day of silence being coopted by the day of rage. It is easy to swing a sword when you do not face the violence. It is easy to never tire when the arms of the state never hit you. 

For the most privileged it may be tempting to want to attack attack attack the police the banks etc. This is an understandable one but nonetheless misguided. If one does not understand why black people in the moment need to rest, need to heal then you are doing no good at all and only serve to sabotage the healing process.

Doing this makes the movement about you and your love of attack rather than justice for black people. Without the dispossessed at the heart of the movement the whole thing unravels into pointless battles of white kids against white adults. 

White leftists who want to attack so badly ought instead to be using their power and privilege for defense. Use your white skin privilege and record the police and document there actions where a black person is unable. Extend the voices of black people. Spread the information that people need to see. Defend black people while we are hurting and while we are healing. 

If your goal is truly to destroy this unjust system then the only way to do it is by defending those most hurt by it. Be a shield because black people can be our own sword.
