No Ditching have consistently been releasing some of my favorite EPs over the past couple of years, and these ladies struck home even harder with their new single and the track “Dog Problems.” “Emo” and “Dog Problems” are more rollicking pop punk from these Durham ladies. Heartfelt punk rock from dog people is pretty much all I need (or cat people, but dog people are extra special). Baby Ghosts bring up the flip side with a single (double single?) “Return of the Bones (Part I and Part II). It’s high energy melodic pop or punk somewhere in that blurry beautiful area. At times Karly’s vocals remind me of Andrea Zollo Pretty Girls Make Graves which is something that I’ve been thinking about revisiting lately. The two bands complement each other beautifully which makes for a lovely split single and a great introduction to both bands.

It took me a little while to find a copy of this in the US, but I was able to get one from Dirtnap...but they appear to be out of it now.
