Today's Walking Video: I’m sorry…it’s been a nutty, busy week and I’ve fallen down on the job. So in a sad little attempt to make it up to you, I’m posting this time-lapse video which compresses maybe five minutes into just nine seconds. I shot this from the balcony of my mother-in-law’s apartment after a lovely dinner with her. She has a decent view of Portland’s west hills, but as you can see, the view is bisected by the ever-pulsating Interstate 5. 

I love how I gradually tilt the phone upward without meaning to…sorry, I was just winging it without a tripod. Though it’s dark and fuzzy, it’s arguably worth clicking for the full-screen version – that way you can check out the aircraft that moves from left to right over the course of the video (probably a helicopter, I’m thinking). And whoa! I just discovered that if you watch really closely, you can see the tram that goes between Oregon Health and Science University on the hill and the riverfront campus below – watch the cluster of lighted buildings in the upper right of the video and you’ll see a dark shape move across them and downward.

Oh, and I just noticed that you might have to click the little “HD” icon to watch the high-res version. Looks like it defaults to off.

Okay…hope this is at least somewhat diverting, and I’ll see you next week.
