Completed in 2002 in Barakaldo, Spain. Images by Roland Halbe, Géraldine Bruneel. Something is born, something dies. but people remember a primitive place, evening fires, steel in the air, sleepers and rails, black coal and dark...

58 bio
58 is the antagonist of my character in my two music projects Safe Passages and NO.MAD. He is a traveler but really more of a hunter. While Sir Nai seeks hope and is overwhelmingly optimistic, 58 doesn’t want there to be any hope in his plain of existence for the fear of what it could do to his world. Unlike Sir Nai, 58 isn't human, he is an entity made up of emotional energy, existing on a plain of reality parallel to our own, called simply The Plain. 58 has the ability to cross over from The Plain into our world of existence just like Sir Nai does but cannot completely exist in our reality as long as Sir Nai is around. While Sir Nai is around he's just a face.58 and Sir Nai share somewhat of a symbiotic relationship in that the more Sir Nai loses hope, the more powerful 58 gets. When Sir Nai crosses into The Plain from our reality, 58 will try to seize the moment to escape into our world thus leaving Sir Nai trapped in The Plain. 58 is very brash, unforgiving and cynical of human beings. He doesn't understand hope and what it means to have it. Everything to 58 is very black and white. All 58 wants to do is remove the lie that he thinks is hope. 58 hates Sir Nai because of how optimistic he is. Sir Nai will continue to try to get 58 to think optimistically but 58 doesn't want to, in fear of accepting what he believes to be a lie. Hope makes 58 very angry. He doesn't anyone, especially Sir Nai to find it. As menacing as 58 is, Sir Nai manages to believe he'll find the right path.
I'm going to do these little excerpt poems from my projects
These are called MAD.PASSAGES rare thoughts. might help explain the project concept.
LOST but not least #2: Eduardo Arroyo - NO.MAD
Nemo propheta in patria.
Nemo propheta in patria.
Languages are wordscapes.
Their arrangement frequently produces “commonplaces”: stable corrals in which we encounter all our prejudices tidily arranged. As a language among others, not even architecture can escape this condition.
Still, a chanche remains to explore unknown landscapes by means of language: beyond the thresholds of “commonplaces”, all the ambiguities and potentialities of words appear, assonances and suggestions emerge within seemingly far and incompatible languages. Context expands, far beyond wellknown territories.
Nemo propheta in patria.
