Would Toreador Noa be happy? Would she feel like she could distance herself from her family a bit and develop a separate identity? Or would the loss of necromancy be devastating to her?
Oooo! You're so right in asking because a lot of Noa's story is her identity within the family. She grows into her own person later in her journey, but I do think the RIPPING AWAY of herself from the Giovanni name/powerset would definitely be scary. Of course she could learn necromancy the hard-way even as a Tore, but would it be the same? It's also interesting to wonder: Would the family keep Noa around if her Embrace was ripped away by someone else, and in regards to a Toreador, feels like a sudden impulsive decision? We also semi-headcanon Toreador as apathetic and clinging to the facade of humanity through arts and using of humans because there's something within them that makes them feel cut off from the world. Like, I personally imagine Toreador being ACCUTELY aware of their loss of connection to humans and it making their bloodline depressed. Of course this is just my personal headcanon and to each their own so don't take this as gospel! I imagine them as artists and patrons because the arts are so integral to humanity. So Noa - already experiencing a depression through being ripped from her family in this way - would definitely start off an unhappy Toreador. She does like to embroider and can play the violin and etc, but she never pursued PEOPLE or the high arts before. Her life was always "family, the pursuit of the prevention of death," etc so we'd definitely be seeing her being pushed to find herself outside of the identity of necromancer. She'd definitely need help, so hopefully whatever Toreador laid claim on her sticks around long enough to get her a social circle, or sweet bestie Nyth is allowed to be with her in this AU to also help her. I don't think she'd know what to do with herself, she's just not a people-person and a lot of the Toreador powerset involves living within people groups! So interesting to try and piece together what she'd be like! I think after a long time, Noa might be a good "leadership" Toreador. An Isaac Abrams type maybe! A guide to the younger people, and she'd collect the fledglings under her wing to give them guidance on navigating the unlife, a real PATRON. She wouldn't really be an artist style Tore. She'd be the guide and the watchful eye and the careful hand I think. Noa would be a business Toreador who probably thrills the idea of being your helper. I don't think she'd sire but she'd definitely be the first to accept a lost soul into her flock to help them. WOW my brain went off on this. How cool! I've never thought of her as a Toreador before, thank you for asking me!!
