Featuring the MCs of @scarlettroubles @cursebreakerelmswood @that-ravenpuff-witch @praetoring @carewyncromwell
— He only lets his parents & teachers call him Willard. If anyone else dares to use his full name they’ll receive a nasty scowl and a warning; use it a second time and there will be hell to pay. He also loves his parents more than anyone in the world and got incredibly homesick during his first year at Hogwarts.
— In the HPMA verse because I may occasionally slot Will into it as an AU because that was my original plan for him before I kinda made him an HPHM MC, he meets Jordi Prewett on his first day of Hogwarts and they instantly clicked. They‘re dorm mates and teammates on the Slytherin Quidditch team and have an absolute blast together whenever they’re not studying. Jordi also lets Will borrow his jackets/jumpers/hoodies because he gets cold a lot and at any given time (he really appreciates that and it almost made him emotional the first time Jordi offered his jumper).
— And speaking of Quidditch, that’s how he met Noa March. Will was impressed with her skills after a match between Ravenclaw & Slytherin so went and told her so; they have a friendly rivalry and like to bitch about Snape/Potions class. They later met in Duelling Club and became partners.
— Whenever Will goes back to Switzerland (usually during the summer holidays and sometimes at Christmas) he loves to go outside late at night and stargaze (despite the fact he hates Astronomy class at school). He finds it really peaceful and relaxing and it reminds him how little he is in comparison to the universe.
— He tried to learn how to play the guitar when he was younger and got frustrated that he couldn’t get the hang of it, so quickly gave up he’s a bit of a perfectionist. However, he still loves to listen to acoustic guitar music and especially when he’s anxious because he finds it calming. In modern day, I think he’d be a massive fan of Estas Tonne.
— He’s has several crushes over the years but none as profound as Eileen Ryder. Despite her almost ‘lone wolf’ like attitude he’s instantly attracted to her and thinks the univserse has plans when her bowtruckle Barnaby Jr ends up in his bag and has to return him to her. He hates that he can’t stop thinking about her and keeps his feelings a complete secret from everyone for rather a long time.
— Will meets Carewyn Cromwell through his friend Jules Farrier. He thinks it’s awesome that she goes on to be a lawyer and he’s always there if she ever needs comforting over the disappearance of Jacob. The three of them would make a pretty awesome team tbh.
— He collects Chocolate Frog cards and is only a few short of having every single one (his dad helps him out by getting him Chocolate Frogs at every opportunity). He has them in a folder so they don’t go all dusty and get ruined.
— Will keeps a journal but not for anything in particular. He presses flowers, doodles, gets his feelings off his chest, and writes about the Scottish scenery & his best friends. He takes it with him everywhere he goes.
— Will also meets Graeme Forsythe in his second/third year when they’re partnered up in Herbology. They both love DADA & charms and study together and they also have a strong disliking for Care of Magical Creatures so usually end up just chatting during that class.
Day 4: Flowers | HP Pride Extravaganza by @gaygryffindorgal
Thea arranged the bouquet with much thought. After all, she had spent many a day studying the language of flowers and she’d spent nearly as much time arranging bouquets for the guests at the Lotus Clover. Red roses, for romance and passion. Peonies, for beauty and elegance. A few sprigs of baby’s breath, for everlasting love. Morning glories, for affection. Yellow tulips for the sunshine in her smile. She hoped that Noa would like, and would understand the meanings… especially with the little card that she tucked into it.
Note: Day 2 (Perfect) of @lifeofkaze’s Valentine’s Day Challenge
Summary: “Then, she moved to the middle of the cookie, writing ‘Be my Valentine’ in swirly letters.” Or, Thea bakes for Noa, while her cousins watch… and provide commentary.
The kitchens were bustling as preparations for the Valentine’s Day feast were being carried out. Every surface was covered with cakes, meats, breads, and sides. Well, all except one small island. The island was covered in the ingredients required to make chocolate chip cookies and was occupied by a trio of cousins.
“So, what exactly are you two going to contribute to this?” Thea Whitten asked, raising her eyebrows at her identical twin cousins.
“What exactly are you trying to do?” Benedict asked, leaning forward in an attempt to see what Thea was doing.
“I’m making frosting for that giant chocolate chip cookie.”
“Will I get some of that cookie if I help?” Jack asked.
“You can lick the spatula because you’re still a child.”
Jack stuck his tongue out, causing Thea to shake her head. Her cousin really could be a bit of a child, when he wasn’t giving them all a heart attack by trying something stupid.
“Okay, but why are you making frosting for a chocolate chip cookie? They don’t need frosting,” Benedict interrupted.
“I want to decorate it. With a fun border and some words,” she replied, turning her attention to the responsible cousin.
“So, is it for a certain Ravenclaw?” Jack asked, his voice taking on a singsong quality.
“Don’t you have a Ravenclaw that you need something for?”
“I’ve already got her a small gift.”
Thea sighed and turned back to start filling the piping bag. It was more enjoyable doing it by hand than with magic. Once the bag was filled with frosting, she crossed the kitchen to get the giant cookie and brought it to the island that she had taken over.
“Now, if you two are going to hover, I need you to be quiet. I want this to be perfect,” she said, eyes narrowing on the twins.
Jack held his hands up in surrender, and backed away from the island to stand against the wall. Thea rolled her eyes, ignoring her cousin. Benedict tucked his hands into his pockets, and leaned backwards, away from the island. Thea ignored them both, leaning over the cookie with the piping bag in her hand.
She worked slowly and carefully, decorating the border with the light pink frosting. Then, she moved to the middle of the cookie, writing “Be my Valentine” in swirly letters. She pulled back and studied the cookie before turning to her cousins.
“What do you think?” she asked, looking between the boys and the cookie.
“It looks good. Can I have the frosting now?” Jack asked, pushing himself off the wall.
“It looks good, Thea. Noa will like it because you gave it to her,” Benedict said.
“So, it takes you three years to realize that you’ve got feelings for Poppy, but this you can pick up on?” she asked and Benedict shrugged, his dark head ducking bashfully.
“Yes, yes, yes. Ben’s a bit dumb. Now, can I have the frosting?” Jack asked, earning a punch to the arm from his brother.
Thea tied the red ribbon with flourish, making sure that the white box was still nearly pristine. Smiling to herself, Thea left the Gryffindor dorms, heading to the Great Hall. The Great Hall was mostly empty when she entered, although she thought she saw the twins slipping out. But then she stopped the familiar form and smiled, crossing the hall to meet her at the Ravenclaw table.
“Hi, Noa,” she said, placing the box down on the table.
Noa smiled wider, as she reached to open the box. Thea rocked nervously on her feet. She wasn’t prone to nerves. The Whittens prone to nerves were her cousins, who both handled them in vastly different ways.
“Oh, Thea. You didn’t have to do this,” Noa exclaimed, looking at the giant heart-shaped cookie.
“I wanted to. Jack and Benedict… helped,” Thea replied, causing Noa to laugh.
“Your cousins are fun.”
“Only sometimes. They’re pains more often than not.”
“Seriously, Thea. Thank you. I know that this will be amazing, just like everything you bake.”
