Bail has been set at a total of $63,500 for the four water protectors arrested yesterday. All four are facing trumped up felony charges.

These protectors were peacefully stopping illegal construction of the Bayou Bridge Pipeline in the Atchafalaya Basin when they were charged at and violently attacked by police and workers from Energy Transfer Partners.

We had permission to be on the land from the landowner and we were breaking no laws. But ETP does NOT have a legal right to build on that land.

The Bayou Bridge Pipeline is the tail end of the Dakota Access Pipeline and would connect is the final piece of ETP's scheme to bring oil from North Dakota to export terminals in Louisiana.

For over two years we have been resisting the project tooth and nail. Now that the project is delayed and behind schedule, ETP is getting desperate in their attempts to silence us. But we won't back down.

Unči Maka (Grandmother Earth) is dying. We cannot keep denying climate change. The western part of the country will continue to burn and fire season will be year round. Or is it already? 🤔 Hurricane after hurricane will hit the coastal regions making them uninhabitable. Or is it already? 🤔 There will be mass migrations (already occurring) from desert countries, war-torn countries and places where there is no access to clean water. Or is it already? 🤔 Crucial rainforests and forests that our WORLD needs to convert CO2 to oxygen will be decimated by fires. Water will cover all of the island nations. Rich people will be living on mountain tops breathing the only clean air left on this planet and drinking the only potable water left on this planet. Water IS and will still be more valuable than any money in the world. But by all means, let’s keep extracting fossil fuels. You know what freaks me out? Is when we go on these “indigenous women divest and protect” missions to the banks immediately they send the brown and black security guards to “deal with us.” We talk to them, on a human level, and we can legit tell when they are affected. We tell them they should be standing with us—that we are fighting for their children too. Some of them straight up don’t give a shit, they just look away and try to ignore us. But then there are those who look ready to crack. Rasslin’ those colonial demons. I just think we would be so powerful if the indigenous and African people united. But sheeeeit, we can’t even get that unity on our rez and I’m sure it’s like that on every rez... There are basically two sides: Pride and Shame. We got some shamed out natives who hate on their own. I know I’m naive and I ALWAYS hope when there is none. I’m still confident that we will get that pipeline out of our Mní šošé. I’m thankful BECAUSE I know we have Black, White, indigenous and Asian allies the world over. And it’s gonna continue to be those ones fighting along side us. **REPOST** Greetings everyone, Julz Rich has been in Louisiana with Cherri Foytlin and other Water Protectors fighting the Bayou Bridge pipeline, which connects to the Dakota Accesss Pipeline. She was arrested and charged after a direct action. She needs to get back there ASAP for a court date and needs help with funds for the trip.
