nofearofwaves replied to your post “[[MOR] I feel like people don’t engage with my fics as much as they...”
You're not the only one who feels that way. I think some authors leverage what popularity they have so much more. I didn't realize a lot of people expect replies to their comments until I saw someone post that they wouldn't comment on a fic until they saw the author replying to other comments. If it helps, though I'm not in the BSD fandom and can't comment on your fic, I am AMAZED by the volume and quality of fic you produce. But I get it; it sucks writing into a void.
AAAH thank you so much!! I actually didn’t realize it either--I don’t really check to see if authors respond to the comments they get and don’t really expect them to respond to mine; people get busy and can’t respond to comments a lot (especially if they get a lot.) But yeah writing into a void sucks and it’s always really great to get comments and know people are enjoying the stuff we write!
Hi. I didn't mean to stir things up unduly with my comments on your Ragnarok post. I thought that with so many comments on it that another probably wouldn't mean anything to you. I hope you understand that my comments have nothing against people who are fans of it; just my personal venting about characters and movies I care deeply about. I realize that you don't care for the first few Thor movies, but I did and do, and TR was upsetting for me. I will move my comments off your post.
everyone has a right to rant i just felt weird about it being on my post that wasn’t really so much about ragnarok as a whole but just about a fandom ship. i totally understand getting upset about characters you care about being written off. it makes sense and i’m sympathetic. i was personally really upset about lady sif until i heard about the actress’s contract with blindspot. and again your feelings are definitely valid im sorry for snapping in reply i felt personally offended by your comments even though you weren’t directed them at me. i hope giving you information about what happened with the actresses gave some clarity and hopefully peace of mind. like there are just some things that are out of our control
#6 for the fanfic asks! :D
Hey nice to meet you fellow Kaiba lover ;)
6. Favorite fic (or one of them)?
Eeek I’ve got so many! I just mentioned two great fic writers on my previous asks @nofearofwaves https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7984216/1/World-Under-Siege is one of my all time faves but I don’t know if you’d be into that fandom and pairing...
Not sure if you are into Azureshipping either so I don’t want to mention any of them in case..
This one you might like - it’s gen and Seto centric. I really liked it because it was IC and actually focused on aspects of his character - the piloting and scientific engineer side - that rarely gets proper attention. Seeing the whole series as hints in Seto from this minor character’s perspective is really unique and interesting -

3, 5, 9, 36 for the asks :)
OMG! Can I just say you are my very first anon! I think?? I joined back in 2013 and had a very up and down relationship with Tumblr due to a toxic fandom at the time so I switched off anons very quickly. Anyway my first anon for a long time, so hey and thank you for your questions!
Hmm...Good questions but hard to answer.
3. Favorite fandom?
I don’t really have one as I have so many. I am enjoying parts of the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom rn, I just wish the Azureshipping section was larger. But what we do have is great and supportive. That’s generally been my experience as I tend to be into crack or pairings/ characters that aren’t as popular. The MadaMito/Founders section in the Naruto fandom in 2012-14 was where I met some of my favourite people @noldien, @fireeaglespirit (who I miss desperately) and through her later @viviane-lefay , @mikeilo, @renaerys, @chattegeorgiana and others. They are so talented and supportive and I love what we made of a small crack-ship and the potential of the wonderful character Mito Uzumaki.
5. Favorite fic author?
Very very hard to chose, I’ve read such amazing stories across different fandoms, some I can’t remember the authors’ names from my lurker days esp in the Naruto fandom, others I’m now (luckily) friends with. Also there are so many different types of fic...but...
I’d say @nofearofwaves and @renaerys (I cheated - there are two!)
@nofearofwaves wrote one of the best fanfics I’ve ever read - if you are into the Marvel Cinematic Universe esp Lokane (Jane Foster x Loki) READ ‘World Under Siege’. So well written, paced and developed and one of the best enemies to allies/lovers/angst/heroines x villains I have ever read. So good. I found it at a very hard time in my life and it showed the power great story can have in dark times. She has written in other fandoms too - all great stuff and does amazing critical supportive analysis of female characters. Plus she’s a lovely person - if you aren’t following her - do it now!
@renaerys is another incredible writer who also shares my penchant for sexy bad guys and feisty heroines that don’t take no sh*t. Her Naruto fanfics are incredible and her MadaMito and SasoSaku fics were inspirational for me. I took several things from getting to know @renaerys in 2013 and these were - being fearless in your love for crackshipping, the wonder of a good meta and the joy and importance of developing both your world AND your characters. She, like @nofearofwaves, really focuses on developing her female characters and I LOVE that. She also gave me an appreciation for minor characters and random pairings I wouldn’t have thought of. @renaerys also encouraged me to join tumblr (I still don’t know whether to thank her for that or not lol ;)) She widened my appreciation of fandom itself, and given fandom and Fan Studies is now a major part of my life that I am grateful for!
9. What is the longest fic you’ve read?
Oooh couldn’t say but I’ve def read things of 30+ chapters. If it’s good gimme allllll the slow burn, character arc and build up!
36. Do you like crossovers? If so, favorite crossover?
I was originally biased against crossovers and am now more open to them, esp since writing my own work and having a writers group I realised how much books are in fact a huge pile of crosscovers and influences! I haven’t really read many but the ones I think would appeal most are if the worlds or characters are compatible in some way. Like the videogames DMC and Resident Evil as DMC started out as a RE game.
I also read a great crossover of Sherlock Holmes solving a huge fandom mystery in the Wheel of Time verse and it was perfect.
Thank you and yeah....Wall of Text no jutsu! x
For the Harry Potter ask, go for 11, 18, and 4.
Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade?
That is hard… I think I’ll go with Hogsmeade. Seems like one of those cute little Christmas card towns (I seriously love those a lot) and I’d love to try a real butterbeer.
Your wand?
According to Pottermore, pine wood with a phoenix feather core 12 1/2′’ with rigid flexibility.
Favorite Hogwarts class?
Another tough one. I’m going to go with Charms. That looks like a lot of useful information in that class. :D
nofearofwaves replied to your post “20-25 hours is like the perfect amount of work for me a week. Since I...”
This has kind of been my answer to anyone who wishes for more free time, but have you looked into ESL teaching? I don't know if you're a native speaker or not, but even so, you can get a low hassle job with your expenses paid! I only "work" about 5 hours a day. Sorry for sounding like an infomercial, but it's a nice gig!
While it’s a good suggestion for reducing work time, ESL teaching would not be for me. I’ve got kitties so I can really move far, and teaching in a class setting (especially if it’s children) is not something I’d enjoy. I enjoy work a lot more when it’s independent and not dealing directly with people. I appreciate that you took the time to suggest something though, thanks!
For the Fanfic Meme, how about 11 and 9?
What’s a fanfic idea you haven’t done yet?
I currently planning to write a Lokane A/B/O fic, because I’m shocked that no one has done it before (at least as far as I know). It’ll also be the first of it’s kind that I’ve ever done. That’ll be exciting.
What’s the fic you like the least?
Of my own? That would have to be In Time, my Harry Potter Peggy Sue fic that I never finished because A) it was horrible, and B) the Harry Potter fandom at the time was horrible. I desperately wanted out, so I discontinued the story and I never wrote a Harry Potter fic again. The only reason I keep it up now is because it was popular.
