Friends?!?!

Do you know what REALLY pisses me off?!?!

Those friends who have a child or more than one. Who have never experienced being a full time working mother.

Those friends who have partners or benefits that do everything for them and don’t have to worry about abandoning their children for most of the hours during the week just to keep a roof over their heads and food in their mouths.

Or those friends who work minimal hours (under 16 a week) and get to do everything they want during their daily lives.

The only time these types of friends piss me off is when…

I have explained to them several times that I work 40 hours a week. That I barely see my children for more that 2 hours a day during the week and during this time it consists of dinner, bath and bed.

That I am apologetic to them at EVERY single opportunity I get for not seeing or speaking to them as much as they would like.

That when I do bother to see/speak to them I bend over backwards to be the BEST friend I can possibly be to them, do them plenty of favours and never expect anything in return.

That I invite them over and cook dinner for them, I buy lunch and take it to their house and spend the day with them. I go out of my fucking way to be a good friend.

and THEN they have the absolute bare faced AUDACITY to call me a PART TIME FRIEND. To tell me I am a shit friend when I am there. To tell me that my excuses for not being there are LAME and that everyone has busy lives and that it shouldn’t be an excuse for not being there as a friend.

To tell me that they understand ANXIETY and then when I tell them my anxiety is through the roof about a certain social meeting, to then turn around and assume it means I’m not coming and be a outright BITCH to me!!!!!

I’m sorry but FUCK YOU!!!! I tried so fucking hard to be a friend to one person in particular and on several occasions i felt personally attacked by your judgmental bitchy comments that half the time you didn’t even realise you were saying hurtful things.

I never insulted you or your parenting. I never judged you. Yet you always came across as though you were so much better than most people and always seemed to think your opinions were right!!!

This post started off generic but has turned to focusing on one person in particular. One person who I know is on Tumblr and I hope reads this and realises that she wasn’t the good friend she seems to think she was.

I am SO MUCH better off without friends like this in my life.

From now on if my friends cannot understand how busy my life is then they can do one. Because friends should understand. Friends should be there regardless and understand that you do not need to be there all of the time to be a true friend.

Life happens. Support one another or go your separate ways.

Life is too short to be surrounding yourself with people who cannot accept you for who you are!

I am a good person I have a beautiful family and if putting them first means loosing friends because they don’t understand the importance of spending quality time with them outside of my 40 hour working week, then so be it!
