I think my most favourite "version" of Mathias, aside from his AC one, is his Gargoyle version, the one connected to my Noir!AU, because it's the AU where his personality first took a solid form and where he and Dottie truly blossomed as a couple and where he, Antoine and Colette truly became the inseparable trio they are now.

It was just so immensely sweet, they managed to truly become my everything.

Also, I got to dabble into my own Gargoyles obsession (you have no idea how obsessed I am with them, both from a supernatural pov and an architectural one. The 90s cartoon was probably the only one that I watched ceremoniously every afternoon, aside from Batman: TAS) and the whole "Fallen Angel" motif that is so dear to my heart, so it was a win win.

I need to write more about it, tbh.

My noir!Jehan for the collab on the Lame Mis server !

I was torn between snappy!Jehan and femme fatale!Jehan, and then I thought.... why not both ? So I gave them the Veronica Lake hair, the cigarette holder and the heels of a true femme fatale.

Also there's smoke coming out of that cigarette but you need to click on the pic to see it.

(Kind of) Noir!AU - Mighty Nein

I was listening to some music and this came into my mind, maybe I’ll make more headcanons but I doubt I’ll actually write it or draw it, but who knows?

it takes place in weird-anachronic-Eberron-like-noir-30s-40s with-a-dash-of-Victorian-Edwardian-vibes version of Wildemount

Jester Lavorre & Veth Brenatto aka Nott The Brave open brand new Private Detective Agency in the city of Zadash

Jester is the daughter of famous Marion Lavorre, owner and performer at the Lavish Lounge

they hire Fjord Tusktooth, ex-sailor trying to escape dark individual that goes by the name of Uk’otoa that saved his life but also developed unhealthy obsession and is trying to use him

Mollymauk Tealeaf is also kind-of- member of Lavorre & Brave (Veth refuses to go by her real name and uses her pseudonym Nott The Brave) Private Detective Agency, mostly as their source of information about the underground world and a local fortune-teller/tattoo artist/shopkeeper/and more that lives with (ex)boxer Yasha Nyoodorin

Yasha acts as his kind of bodyguard and sometimes joins Veth and Jester in field

Molly (and Yasha, kind of; and later Jester) are part of semi-profesional troupe of artists and circus ppl that perform at the Moondrop & Fletchling Bar

Jester and Veth following some leads while investigating local branch of The Solstryce University and they stumble upon a bookshop run by ex-proffessor Caleb Widogast, a man with dark bags bags under his eyes and even darker past

for reasons unclear even for for himself he decides to help them

He also is a tutor in the meantime

the agency quickly crosses paths with Beauregard Lionett, a mysterious individual frequenting underground fighting rings as much as she visits libraries and Widogast’s bookshop and all of the Zadash’s archives

Beau works for the Cobalt News newspaper that seeks to uproot and uncover corruption in the Empire

due to its nature the agency frequently uses help of Caduceus Clay, morgue worker at the Savalier Funaral Parlor

in the meantime Caduceus is growing an underground fungal garden in his basement

it’s actually Molly that introduces Cad to the rest because he knows Clay from the market where he sometimes sells tea, herbs and mushrooms

Or maybe Cad runs a diner?

finally they all work together and change the name of the agency to The Mighty Nein Private Detective Agency

(Pumat Sol is there too, but I’m not sure of his role yet, he’d probably wouldnt be changed much, be some kind of a shopkeeper)

I’m not sure if magic is still there, but I’m not sure it’s that relevant

There is some technology there too

NOIR!AU: Watching the sun rise is no news to me, I’ve done this a hundred times before. But it’s different this time, this is no ordinary case. It's certain as the red sunlight creeping through my office that tomorrow I’ll be watching the sun rise again, the same way I did yesterday. I had to sit for a moment and smoke a cigarette before I dive into it again. There’s no time to eat, no time to sleep, no time at all: he’s in danger. I have to find him. I will find him. Alive. The alternative is not an option. But time is running out, and it’s clear by now that there’s no way I’ll be able to find him by myself. I can only think of one person that would be able to help me, the last person I’d seek for help. It’s different this time, this is no ordinary case. My thoughts are repetitive, sleep deprivation taking its toll on me, I can feel it numbing my mind. Anyway. This is the last person I’d ask for help if I ever had the choice, but as you can see, I don’t have any. It’s not for me, it’s for him. Seems I’ll be in debt to the local king of the crime, soon. Whatever it takes to have him back. Whatever it takes.
