Nachos With The Klein Family
Who We Had Nachos With: The delightful Klein family.
After a series of nacho outings with individuals, we were ready to make the commitment and have nachos with a family. Nachos with one person is great, so simple math tells us that nachos with four people must be at least four times as much fun. Thankfully, this amazing group of humans were willing to be our test subjects:

Where We Met: Ernie’s Taco House - 4410 Lankershim Blvd, N. Hollywood, CA
Ernie’s is very special to Nina and I because it’s where we had our first date. At the time we called it a practice date because we wanted to be able to back out in case things went poorly.
(We got engaged a month later.)
Ernie’s also plays a prominent role in our friendship with the Kleins because of an afternoon we spent there a few years ago. I can’t get into the details but among friends we call Ernie’s “Tit City.”
So as you can see, Ernie’s Taco House in North Hollywood is a magical place that we only visit with our best friends.
What We Ordered: We went straight up nacho crazy this time. We ordered:

That’s 3 different plates of nachos for three adults and two children. I don’t know what the recommended number of plates of nachos is but if it’s fewer than three I’m going to be very angry.
What We Talked About: Video games, superheroes, female representation in media and that was before our server came to take our drink order. (Nina: I recommend the double margarita which comes in a giant goblet that requires two hands to lift and makes you feel like a tiny tequila god.)
When it was time to order drinks the kids ordered lemonade. We learned that Grace and Sam both have big plans for lemonade; Grace plans to get rich selling it and Sam plans to drink as much of it as possible. I’m already on board with this business plan.
Once the nachos were brought out we debated the merits of the different styles and declared it a three way tie for first. When it come’s to nachos, you just can’t lose.
