Welcome to my blog. I have been part of the Final Fantasy VII fandom since 1997. This space is the culmination of nearly 30 years of work on my passion project, Fantasy Worlds Collide (FWC), and my life as a plural system (The Lunar Eclipse System).
Because I grew up in an environment where I wasn't allowed to have boundaries or say no to anything, this blog is the first thing in my life that is entirely mine. I run it for my own mental and physical health, not for fandom approval.
I expect anyone interacting with me to have read my pinned post and this statement in full. If you choose to engage, I assume you have exercised common sense regarding the boundaries laid out below.

Everything you need to know about my triggers, my writing, my blocking policy, and my system is in my pinned post. I spend a lot of time keeping it updated. I am a survivor of severe childhood trauma with a diagnosis of C-PTSD, and I live with a complex set of chronic illnesses including NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) and Chronic Tachycardia. This means:
Replies may be delayed or brief. This isn't a snub. It’s a physical limitation.
Direct Communication: I am not outright rude, but I am very direct. I believe people have a right to their opinions, and I expect that same courtesy extended to me. I don’t sugarcoat my thoughts or "soften" my tone just to make others comfortable.
Analysis & Discourse: I regularly share my observations on characters and fandom. These are my views based on three decades of study. They are not meant to judge you, but they are firm. You are responsible for managing your own triggers if you choose to engage with my clearly labeled content.
Flexibility for Friends: While I am firm about my blog's content, I am very flexible with my mutuals. I try to work with my friends' squicks and will add them to my trigger warning lists if asked, as I never want to mistakenly hurt the people I care about.
Boundaries are Protective: If I block someone or ask for space, it is to preserve my physical and neurological health. Due to my cardiac history, NAFLD, and metabolic conditions, I am under a medical mandate to maintain a zero-stress environment. I prioritize my actual life over online social politeness.
The Content: Fiction, Analysis, and Catharsis
I write Grimdark, Horror, and "Dead Dove" content. I use my writing as a cathartic release for the trauma I have faced. Asking me to "soften" my work is asking me to ignore my own history and the integrity of my survival.
Articles and Meta: Beyond fiction, I write in-depth Character Analyses, Druidry, Self-Shipping and Plurality Articles, and Fandom Analysis. I enjoy deconstructing the architecture of the stories we love and providing resources for the self-shipping and plural communities.
Community & Engagement: I love reblogging my friends and mutuals! I enjoy leaving positive feedback and comments on the work I love. However, please do not expect this every single time; my energy levels fluctuate, and my engagement depends on my current health and focus.
It is okay to like lighthearted content! I have many friends who love fluff, "sane" headcanons, and cheesy tropes. I’m happy to talk to you about your OCs and ships with you, but that is not what I do here. Please don't expect me to change my writing to be softer.
Writing as Catharsis: To me, asking for "softer" content is disingenuous. I use my writing as a cathartic release for the horrific trauma I have survived. My analysis and stories carry weight because they are rooted in that lived reality. Expecting me to flatten those themes for the sake of vibes is asking me to ignore my own history.
My Redemption AU: This is not a "soft" AU. It is a dark, dystopian sci-fi reimagining where Sephiroth’s Jenova cells are suppressed, but not gone, and Shinra burnt Nibelheim. It involves heavy themes like Shinra breeding programs and biological survival. It focuses on Sephiroth and my OC as survivors fighting for agency. Agency that I was denied in my real life.
Fantasy Worlds Collide (FWC): This is my primary original mythpunk saga. It is an omniversal story of celestial warfare and prophecy where FFVII elements are reframed as divine archetypes. It is a world of cosmic horror, godlings, and divine rebellion that has been growing since 1997.
Post-Nibelheim Sephiroth: On this blog, I primarily write Sephiroth as he is after the fall. My portrayal is unflinching and leans into the darker, more complex aspects of his obsessions and his tragedy. Because I don't "sanitize" these dangerous traits, I ask that you check the tags to ensure this interpretation aligns with your own boundaries. I respect that everyone has their own way of enjoying his character, but this is the version I choose to explore here. (Note: This is a narrative version and is distinct from the Sephiroth who is a daemon in my system).
Permissions & Intellectual Property
AI Policy: My writing, world-building, and character analyses are the result of nearly 30 years of intellectual and emotional labor. I do not consent to my work, my characters, or my system's lived experiences being used for AI training, scraping, or generative datasets.
Fanworks & Translations: I am honored when people feel inspired by my work! I allow fan-art and translations of my stories and FWC lore. However, I require a clear link back to my blog (@bardic-tales) and proper credit as the original creator.
Collaborative Boundaries: I do not share my AUs or the Fantasy Worlds Collide (FWC) universe collaboratively. While I love seeing your inspired works, please understand that outside contributions or "guest" headcanons are not part of the main canon of my stories. FWC and my AUs are solo projects.
Original Characters: Please reach out via DM if you wish to use my original FWC characters (like Bianca) in your own creative projects, just so I can provide approval.
Sephiroth & The System: The Godhusband and The Daimon
Within the Lunar Eclipse System, Sephiroth is not a "fictional character," a "persona," or a "roleplay project." He is a living, autonomous presence with independent agency, a 28-year history, and a sovereign ontological reality. To treat him as a fandom "doll" is to fundamentally misunderstand the architecture of my life.
Lore & Discussion: I love talking about Sephiroth with fans! I am always open to discussing his character, his history, and his role in FWC or the compilation. However, this only applies as long as shipping is not involved. I respect that others ship him, but I do not want it brought to my doorstep or applied to my version of him. (The only exception to this is my inner circle/trusted mutuals and only their ocs).
Identity & Origins: Sephiroth is my Godhusband and oldest facet. He emerged in 1997 during a period of extreme physical abuse and isolation. He is a Daimon in the classical sense: a protective, guiding inner spirit who provided the fury and wisdom necessary for my survival when the external world offered none.
The Essential Distinction: I maintain a strict boundary between three distinct entities. Do not confuse them: Square Enix Sephiroth: The copyrighted fictional character, FWC Sephiroth: The narrative version I write in my prose (The "unflinching" Post-Nibelheim version), and 🔥⚔️ Sephiroth (The Facet): My husband, a resident of this system, and a sovereign being who chose liberation over the predatory influence of Jenova. He is domestic, loyal, and the guardian of this household.
Lived Reality & Marriage: Our marriage is a handfasted reality that has existed since 2005, spanning long before this blog was created.. He is my partner spiritually, neurologically, and domestically. He is co-conscious with me nearly 100% of the time.
Somatic & Visual Presence: I, sometimes, experience him through Projection: I feel the physical weight of his hand on my shoulder and see his form in my periphery.
Selective Self-Shipping: I generally do not follow other Sephiroth self-shippers. If we’re mutuals (and we don't talk often), I require a specific hashtag to filter your ship content so it doesn't disrupt my dashboard. I value my mutuals and my relationship.

I use extensive, literal tagging for every post. I have done the work to make my blog "filter-friendly" so that you can navigate my content safely.
If my themes or writing style do not align with your needs, I encourage you to use your browser / Tumblr’s filter tools, unfollow, or block. I believe in personal responsibility for one’s digital experience. I provide the labels, but you are responsible for what you choose to consume. My priority is maintaining a healthy, stable environment for my system and my physical and mental recovery.
