Duh! They are product lines...
Iāve been saying for a bit - it didnāt make sense to me that DreamWorks marketing made the paladin logos. If they were assets in the show, then the logos should be in an asset library from which marketing can pull for merchandising design purposes. Then it hit me.
The paladin logos arenāt in the show. They represent product lines, which are wholly marketing.
And thatās why the EPs are pissed.
To give you some background - product lines make it easy for you to buy a certain items of a particular group of merchandise. They are packages. For example - take a Disney vacation. You want to go economy, so you choose a Value resort, which pairs you with a value dining package (quick service), and your tickets are included at a value price.
The same deal occurs with product lines for toys. Letās say Shiro, the Guardian Spirit of the Cosmos, is your favorite character. Well, then you know that when you see his logo -Ā
- youāre getting a Shiro toy/merchandise.
Hereās Lanceās package, where you can clearly see the product lines for each paladin -Ā
Of course, thatās an issue for EPs who havenāt updated the series bible and want to play fast and loose with the canon. You canāt move around characters in lions for the rest of series willy nilly if Marketing has designated product lines, as designed by your out-of-date bible.
If thatās the case, then Shiro needs to be back in the show and in his lion fast - to sell toys.
...of course, Iām sure Marketing wasnāt happy when they found out Keith was gone after that, but the EPs listened. Marketing just asked for Shiro back...right?
I wouldnāt doubt that was even the reason why after Keith gets back into Black, he gets a wolf...named Cosmo.Ā
...yāknow, what Shiro was supposedly the Guardian Spirit of.
Special thanks to @nomadicism for the pictures of the toy boxes!Ā
