Famous weapon...the whistle.

Like unless it's an Aztec Death Whistle... it's probably not causing much trouble, but I'm pissed that Indiana has decided to include it as something that can be a weapon, thereby limiting the things I am comfortable carrying for self defense in certain situations to a well-weighted hat.

I've actually used a weighted hat in self-defense situations before, so that's fine, even if it won't be much use against certain opponents. Anyhow if you want to buy a whistle, can't go wrong with a classic although a bosun's pipe is easier to signal with.

Comprehending voice-to-skull communication is actually a lot like trying to have a conversation with someone who only knows how to mumble-rap. Most of the time it's just barely decipherable, but also a lot of the time I'm like "I have no fucking idea what you just tried to say but it was totally incoherent as far as I'm concerned."

And then I'll always hear the voice attempting to repeat itself for me in a more irate tone, but I still just can't even remotely figure out what they're saying so I don't even give a response to their statement/demand/whatever insult or threat they've come up with this time.

I'm working on a far future sci-fi story and I'm trying to design a fictional police force that avoids using lethal force. My ideas are to give them stun-guns and revolvers or otherwise guns that carry few bullets. Is this plausible?

As long as your world building supports the ability to avoid lethal force, like stun guns or some type of tranquilizer, then it’s plausible. If you want some real world ideas about the police not carrying lethal weapons, then look at the UK, Ireland, Norway, Iceland, or New Zealand.
