Let's clarify:

Afab non-binary person: A non-binary person who was assigned the female gender at birth. Afab: Assigned female at birth.

Amab non-binary person: A non-binary person who was assigned the male gender at birth. Amab: Assigned male at birth.

And no, afab non-binary people don't identify as non-binary because they are "misogynistic" or because they want to "escape patriarchy" because unfortunately patriarchy will always see them as women even if they are not. Also, there are afab non-binary people who are feminists.

The non-binary umbrella encompasses several genders, including, for example, genderfluid people. The non-binary umbrella is itself a part of the trans umbrella.

Non-binary hate is not tolerated

I stumbled upon a non-binary hate blog and it just makes me so sad that people are like that. Like I hate when cis ppl say shit like that but when fellow trans people try to erase the identities of enby folks I am horrified. This gender binary system is so twisted that we have our own trans siblings turning their backs on us to further the toxic gender roles and stereotypes.

“Give me scientific evidence that non-binary people exist.” How about actual non-binary people? You don’t get more solid proof than that. History! Where in the past there have been gender non-confirming people who didn’t have the word non-binary. Or bigender, agender, and genderfluid. People who lived lives as different genders part nonbinary part something else.

Also in many cultures around the world there has been evidence found of people who identity or have previously identified as a third/no gender in the past. Especially in cultures that have little gender assigned structure. In certain Native American cultures or tribes there are people who were neither gender and took on the roles and responsibilities that both “genders” would do. Hmmmm sound familiar??? And that was in the past. THERE ARE SCIENTIFIC STUDIES.

“You have to have dysphoria to be trans.” False. There are trans men and trans women who don’t experience (or experience little dysphoria) are they not trans because they love their bodies? Is a woman who is plus sized skinny-shaming because she loves her body type? Non-binary people CAN and DO feel dysphoria depending on the individual.

“They/them, xe/xem, etc aren’t REAL pronouns.” You know what? There are words in other languages that don’t translate does that mean that subject doesn’t exist? Thou, thee, thy are all words Shakespeare made up and people liked!! The words you speak are all made up too! But there is meaning behind what you say and thats all because human cognitivity, learning, adapting, changing. Words are made up all the time, we give them meaning. They/them and others are valid pronouns as long as they fit grammatically. And oh shit look they do!

⚠️TRIGGER WARNING⚠️: TRANSPHOBIA / HATRED TOWARDS ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE PART OF THE NON-BINARY UMBRELLA

I and a large number of people who are part of the Italian Feminist Twitter have repeatedly had problems with this woman.

She says she stands up for trans people but, as you've read, she believes she has the right to decide who is truly trans and who isn't, and she uses the fact that she "has trans friends" as an excuse to do so.

Moreover, by saying that gender is only a social construct when I was talking about gender identity, she invalidated the existence of her "trans friends".

If there was an award for Queen of Hypocrisy this woman would win it hands down.

Oh and for the record, this woman is a CISGENDER woman, so this whole thing is even more serious.

It's because of people like her that many people don't trust radical feminists. I'm not a radical feminist, but I've been lucky enough to meet radical feminists who, in addition to being good people, are trans-inclusive and would NEVER invalidate anyone.

I am a cis woman, but anyone who knows me knows that I have always listened to trans people, and I mean ALL trans people. I've searched for information on this topic and therefore I can't help but feel disgust for people like Jay.
