Confession: before the official reveal that Ilia was/still is in love with Blake, I used to ship her with Adam. I thought it would be interesting for them to turn to each other as a means of filling the Blake-shaped hole in their lives, however unhealthy that may have been (at that point, I was unsure if Ilia's interest had been romantic or simply a close friendship, but that didn't much affect her dynamic either way with Adam, in my mind). Now that we know Blake & crew are headed to Mistral on the same ship from before, the crackship gods have smiled upon me. You may recall the First Mate from Volume 4. That character's VA is nonbinary, and their headcanon is that the First Mate is also nonbinary and is named Matte Skye. I'm not super wild about the whole Blake harem thing, so I don't really ship Calico, but I thought Ilia and Matte would be adorable together! We don't know how gender nonconformity is viewed in Remnant, but it's possible that these two could find some common ground as people who had to hide who they were from the outside world. Anyway, here they are doing the Titanic thing. Matte is Jack since they're more accustomed to seafaring life and would be more confident supporting Ilia, and Ilia is Rose since she may never have been on a ship before, at least not like this, and would find the whole experience exciting and new. I'm not sure what to call this ship. Oceanic Dispersal? Sea Serpent? Galápagos? Cuttlefish? I can't decide. #bevcantdraw #rwby #rwbyfanart #iliaamitola #ilia #iliarwby #matteskye #nonbinary #nonbinaryrepresentation #lgbtrepresentation #chameleon #faunus #titanic #shipping #rarepair #crackship #iliaxmatte #rwbyshipping #otp #ishipit
