So another update is that I'm planning on going to law school to become an environmental lawyer!

It won't be for another two to three years as we'd like to have one more baby after this one, but I'm making moves now to make sure it happens.

I registered to take the LSAT in August today. I took my first practice test on Friday and scored a 166. While I'd like to increase it, it is very likely a good enough score to get into the school I plan on attending (their 75th percentile score is a 162).

I'll continue to receive my paycheck from teaching through the end of August, so I'll be able to keep Sweet Potato in daycare in addition to Lovebug until then so that I can study consistently.

It feels really good to be taking these concrete steps towards pursuing my dreams 💛

I haven’t gotten a decision yet from my 1st choice school, but I was officially accepted into a smaller college that guarantees transfer to my 1st choice school upon completion of an AA/AS degree 🥹 so I would only have to do the final two years for my bachelor’s degree. Yay :)

Started Life Drawing II this week! (I have to complete four life drawing courses for my degree) Unfortunately, due to the unclothed nature of life drawing, there's not a lot that I'm going to be able to post here for the next couple months. I will be trying to do other work outside of class so there will be Things you can See. And otherwise, when I like a face I draw, I will crop in and post that! This week:

we're doing biochemistry now! The professor is great and also talks about medical applications of what we're learning, which is neat. I still cannot get my eyes to see stereoview images in 3D, especially not on a screen. good thing I don't want to be a structural biochemist anyway.

I'm still figuring out the time management for my geoscience module (we did atmosphere and weather this week!). I'm normally a fast reader but slow way down when I'm taking notes. This week we also have an activity where we need to run a model and comment on the results, which I've started on but am nowhere near finished.

even though I wasn't done with my reading I went on a museum scavenger hunt with the archaeology society on Friday. We narrowly didn't win but saw some cool stuff and everyone who participated could pick something out in the gift shop, so I got some postcards.

campus is really picturesque in fall with all the trees and leaves etc.

i need to find the hat i made last year because, having short hair, i'm cold! also i need some new fingerless gloves for working in the library.

I did one (1) workout, which is better than 0 I guess

on the weekend I went to a friend's house to help press apple juice for cider, which was fun and a nice break. we will drink the results some time next spring/summer. his dog was very pleased that i was there and kept demanding pets throughout the day 💚

I don’t know who needs to hear this but you don’t have to do college all in one go. You can take a semester, a year, or even a decade off, and it will still be there when you come back.

(Unless you’re in law school or something. Then you gotta. But undergrad is generally more flexible.)
