My local yarn store (shout-out to Knitty City!) is hosting a new indie dyer each Saturday in November and December, and today’s was the talented @noochfiber . . . Four skeins, including a gorgeous grellow (“Fever”), came home with me today. 🙃

This is the first big lace project I’ve done, and also the first time I’ve actually blocked something! I am so happy with how it came out and also I AM A PEACOCK CAW CAW I AM BIRB

whoop, haven’t posted here in a while. so here’s some yarn i’ve recently gotten, plus rambling commentary below. posting a “keep reading” because there’s a lot of pictures and words after this.

a new LYS opened up close to me in october, so of course i had to go check it out. this is a sampler of a local yarn. planning on buying a full skein of something and doing something stranded. little fox yarn - little fox sampler. 100% merino, 435 yards/100 g total, fingering.

i can’t say enough good things about @noochfiber. they are great. their colors are great, their customer service is great. i ordered two skeins of this, but there was an error on their website that allowed me to order two when they didn’t actually have two in stock, so they custom dyed these two for me. i originally bought one to go with the little fox sampler above and one to do something else with, but once they came in i loved them so much i decided they need to stay together. probably going to make them the sleeves/neck of peek pocket. nooch fiber - morningside sock, in color diner coffee. 100% merino, 400 yards/100 g, fingering.

my grandmother came to stay for christmas, and she got me this one and the next one as a christmas gift. planning on using some of it to make a strange loop, and idk what the rest is going to be yet. dream in color - jilly lace, in color grey tabby. 100% merino, 880 yards/113 g, laceweight.

next one i got from my grandmother. bonus Ember butt in the background. my mom’s favorite colors, so i might make something to surprise her? and use the rest for a simple hat i have an idea for. fyberspate - gleem lace, in color sea green. 55% wool/45% silk, 874 yards/100g, laceweight.

FINALLY, this is what i got from santa (lol). i’ve been wanting speckle yarn forever, but somehow never actually got some when i bought yarn (???). plan on making a big, rectangular wrap that has stripes of different textures, since i have three of these. madelinetosh - twist light, in color holi festival. 75% merino/25% nylon, 420 yards, fingering.
