if megamind had the option to turn into metro man and use his powers this whole time, why didn't he use it to ruin metro man's public image before he went all musicplier?
Miraculously, Boombox hadn't seemed to notice you as he was waiting for his order...although his head began to turn towards where you were sitting.
Thinking quickly, Vine Staff got up to distract Boombox by striking up a conversation with you, with Shuriken and Katana ushering you out of the door.
"Whew, that was a close one!" Shuriken breathed out, leaning against a tree to rest. He and Katana had rushed you all the way to Thieves Den.
Was it a little excessive to bring you all the way here? Probably, but Katana insisted getting you as far away from Boombox as possible.
"So, what the heck is up with Boombox being so obsessed with you?" Shuriken questioned, turning to look at you. "Like, how long has this been going on for?"
"For a while now. I think since early July?" You answered, trying to recall when the DJ began trying to "befriend" you.
"Haven't you ever, like, told him to stop? And if he didn't then you'd call the cops?"
"Reporting someone to the authorities isn't as easy as it sounds, Shuriken." Katana spoke up suddenly, causing you both to jump in surprise. "Even if Y/N were to go to the police, I doubt Boombox wouldn't try stopping them. He'd end up doing something drastic."
"Well, we can't just sit here and do nothing!" Shuriken threw his hands up in exasperation. "Who knows what'll happen? What if Boombox decides to, like, kidnap Y/N in their or something?"
You'd never considered the possibility of Boombox abducting you from your home, but hearing it out loud had hit a nerve.
After a few hours, Katana walked you back home, giving you his phone number incase you felt the need to call him for an emergency.
Now laying in your bed, you gazed up at the ceiling, contemplating what Shuriken had said earlier.
Boombox? Kidnapping you? The thought made you shudder, clutching your pillow as if it were a weapon.
You shook your head. You're just overthinking things again, obviously he wouldn't attempt that. Boombox is too clumsy to attempt a home invasion...right?
A muffled thud was what woke you from your slumber, snapping your eyes open and sitting up in an instant.
Shakily, your hand groped in the dark for your phone, snatching it up and checking the time. It was midnight.
You breathed out. What had caused a thud? Had something fallen? Had it come from outside? You weren't sure, but, you felt the need to check what it was.
Sounds like it came from the living room. You thought, slipping out of bed and stepping into the hallway, using your phone's light as a torch.
While descending the first few stairs, Shuriken's words echoed around your head. You stopped, trying to dismiss the thought.
He was being irrational. You told yourself, now wishing the vigilante hadn't said any possibilities at all. Just check whatever happened, and go back to bed.
In your living room now, nothing seems out of place. Nothing was missing or broken, a good sign...but didn't you close that window earlier?
You pulled the window shut, locking it for good measure. Turning around, you scolded yourself for being so paranoid. See? Nothing. Now get back up the stairs, and go back to-
It was the neon green eyes from your hallway that stopped you dead in your tracks.
A dreadful mix of nausea and panic began to take over your body like an infection, causing a tear of disbelief to roll down your face.
Then, the owner of the eyes lunged in your direction.
