Passing kitty cat lore onto tumblr
Amari is the single child of a quirkless woman and a man with the Lykoi quirk (type mutant). Ever since the two began dating, his family never approved of the two's relationship as they were very superstitious country folks who believed the marriage between quirk and a quirkless was a bad omen and nothing good could ever come of such relationship, but their pleas were ignored by the couple who cut contact after the marriage. When Amari was born, the two assumed she had just inherited her father's quirk and never looked into it further.
For the following 7 years Amari lived a normal life in the countryside of Japan with her two loving parents and a couple friends who would play with her in the evening, unfortunately it was in one of those play sessions that everything changed. In a game of tag Amari didn't bring attention to her surroundings and was run over by a truck.
Her body was dragged along the road until the vehicle stopped, broken and bent in ways no one would be able to recover from. A brutal fatality, it was clear to all those present that Amari was dead.
However, it was as the distressed children ran away and the driver despaired, head in hands, over what he had done that Amari's real quirk activated for the first time, steadily bringing her body back together and twisting her back into shape.
The gruesome sight horrified the driver, who hopped back in his truck and drove off as fas as he could, and also Amari's own parents who arrived just in time to witness it. They were disgusted, confused and afraid, the father immediately remembered his parent's warning, and the two ran.
Once Fail-safe (type accumulative) had run its course, Amari called for her family. They yelled horrible things, yelled for the monster to go away.
When she chased after them, they threw rocks and whatever they could find in her direction.
When she reached the place she called home, they locked her away and ignored her cries to be let in, her confused apologies for whatever might have caused such reaction, her pleas for her mother's comfort.
The poor child continued banging and scratching at the door through the night, by the time morning came the story had spread around the small village and Mr.Saisei's parents, alongside a couple townsfolk, came to the couple's rescue and drove the "Unholy beast" away.
Amari ran deep into the surrounding wilderness and remained a nomad around these areas for the next several years. More deaths came along the way as she adapted to having to hunt and fend for herself, but as she leaned more into her animalistic features it was kinda like second nature. Over time she grew bold and began exploring a couple of nearby towns, always around the less populated streets and darker areas so the civilians wouldn't notice a missing article of clothing or catch her digging through leftovers.
Unfortunately these town adventures led to another death, this time by a group that despised mutants, They set fire to her body and laughed watching her burn. Months later she ran into one of the thugs in a different city who shook at the sight of her and grew more and more unnerved when she casually told him of her power upon being asked, at the end of the day he ran off on his own and Amari didn't even need to fight.
But something much bigger came out of that occasion, talk of the mutant who could come back from the dead spread around the shady streets of Japan, eventually putting her in Giran's sight and leading to her recruitment at the League of villains.
Despite their goals and endeavors, the league were the first to treat her as a person after all those years and are therefore the one place she can call 'home".
Personality
Despite all the horrible things that happened to her Amari is far from a reclusive sad type, while not outright energetic, she is very blunt and will talk nicely to pretty much anyone who approaches her and does have fun interacting with people. She has an incredibly neutral view on essentially everything about life and things are a certain way simply because that's just how things are, some people have better lives than others despite the kind of person they actually are and that's just how life is so there's no point in dwelling on such things. So the ideas of revenge, disdain, jealously, much less the thought of heroes being frauds or destroying society never take any significant space in Amari's head, she's a villain because that's the side the people who treated her kindly are and she will follow them just as loyally as she would the heroes side had one of them been the one who found her.
In fact, Amari sometimes thinks about how nice it could have been to be born someone who could become a hero and go to school and make friends and that kinda stuff, they're nice thoughts. These remnants of admiration and want for a better life are what makes her talk to heros as casually as she would for basically anyone. While frustrating to some peers, it does make for quite the shock when switches from normal talk to attacking in the blink of an eye, after all that's what she came to do there in the first place.
Fighting + Abilities
Amari fights like a wild animal and much like one she uses a combination of stealth and strategy to her movements, main moves are swiping/scratching and biting, tends to aim for areas that would end the conflict as quick as possible which when paired with her great agility and adaptations from Fail-safe's previous triggers makes her a scary opponent.
By the time she is recruited bt the league Amari has died four times:
1st death: Ran over by truck -- Gained higher impact absorption, tougher bones and flexibility
2nd death: Bacterial infection from eating raw meat and critters -- Led to her having a much stronger digestive system, pretty much immune to most standard types of poison
3rd death: Drowning -- Can now stay up to 40 minutes without air
4th death: Burning alive -- Increased endurance to high temperatures, only sources strong enough to cause third degree burns or higher can began causing real fire damage to her body (can still be affected by impact though)
