So I was thinking a while ago about troll designs and all the different horn shapes we see and I thought it would be cool if there were a deer-like tribe with antlers...then I remembered that there IS a vaguely deer-like species with a slender frame and cloven hooves, aka Nomura’s tribe. But alas, no antlers!
But then I realized...we’ve never seen a male member of Nomura’s tribe...what if the reason she doesn’t have antlers is just being a doe? :0 (obviously this gender distinction isn’t universal across all tribes as we do see some female trolls with horns, but again we never see a male member of Nomura’s so...maybe for them??)

I have tentatively called the species the Faukar, fau- from faun since they look a bit like fauns (I know traditionally fauns are goats not deer, but some modern depictions depict them as more deer-like, soooooo), and -kar cuz it makes it sound a little more rough and trollish. Might change it later if I think of something better tho idk
Females are smaller and more slender like does (and therefore a fair bit faster/more nimble than the males), while males are larger and bulkier like bucks.
While each individual can very much hunt for him- or herself (and will if necessary), hunting is traditionally a full-clan effort, like wolves or lions. This way they can hunt quite large game; the nimble speedy females will herd their target into an ambush where the powerful males will take it down.
