Agnostic atheist here. It is of my personal observation that poorly disguised antisemitism has become standard, the norm for some people. It's as if every 100 years the people forget the atrocities of last century and think "Let's blame it all on Jews."

Imagine this: You live in your flat. Suddenly your landlord comes in, together with a tenant that hasn't lived there forever. Your landlord says: "Look I was living with this guy but I subjected him to atrocious treatment, so to apologize, I'm gonna let him move in with you." You don't get a say in this. Said new guy takes up your room, you go to sleep on the couch, your landlord forces you to agree to this. In the following months, the new guy starts taking more and more of your stuff, straight up abusing you when you resist. And then, the day you fight back physically, he pulls out a knife and stabs you. Your landlord sees all of this, and tells you that you deserved to be stabbed for attacking the new guy. Meanwhile, the new guy pulls out a gun, shoots out your kneecaps, strips you naked and pisses on your wounds. During all this time you get called hateful for asking him to stop.
