like I just met this really cool guy and I like him and at the very least want to be his friend, and I could possibly like him like that and want to be more on day

but because the last few times I told a guy friend who expressed interest in me that I was unsure about my feelings and needed time to figure it out they said they were cool with it. But then they just obsessed over me and constantly made advances, both sexual and romantic, and basically harassed me to the point of me cutting them out of my life entirely

and I just want to be friends with this new guy, who is a little older than me (I’m 22 and he’s about 27) and is already friends with my best friend, but now Im always just waiting for the other shoe to drop and for him to say he likes me and for me to have to explain that, due to past trauma, I am weird about relationships and then worry that hes gonna get obsessive and creepy

like he does like to help and offers to give me rides places cause he wants to hang out, but he’s always respectful of my space and boundaries and shit and I do like him but god

this has just got me so fucked up right now

So. What, in people’s opinion, does one do when a post makes a lot of valid points and is a plea for people not to hate on ships they don’t ship...but starts off with a blanket statement that you KNOW is patently untrue? And would probably keep people from reading futher (it almost stopped me, that’s for sure)? Do you reblog, respond to the blog, send a PM? I mean, if it was someone I know I would contact them via PM and start a conversation, but if it’s someone you DON’T know, then there’s the chance you’ll just get them pissed off at you when all you’re trying to do is make a suggestion.

Sigh. Guess I’ll probably just ignore it and hope it doesn’t cross my dash (it was tagged for our ship, that’s how I saw it).

There are people who go through their entire lives sincerely believing that if their feelings are hurt, the other person must necessarily have done something wrong. Shut this shit down! You are not responsible for other people's feelings! Your job is to 1.) be nice and 2.) have fun. (AKA, "Don't be a dick.") It is not your job to make sure you never, ever say or do anything that will make other people upset, offended, or uncomfortable!! Don't make this your job! Your life will be hell! And stop acting like it's other people's job! It's not! Own your actions, own your reactions, own your beliefs, own your feelings.
