Genuinely Sinners is a once-in-a-century movie. It is going to be talked about for years to come. It is going to redefine the metrics with which we evaluate horror and period pieces. It is original in a way few stories are. The writing is exquisite, beginning to end. The metaphor is present without being overbearing and followed through on seamlessly and consistently. It is beautiful. It is the most beautiful film I have ever seen. I cried for over half the movie I was so moved. For the rest of my life, Sinners will influence my writing and the way I analyze others' writing. It should have won all fucking sixteen Oscars it was nominated for. It deserved every award. We should have invented a new award just for it.
