the thing heated rivalry fandom really needs to get into is how wealthy russians decorate their homes, incl those who've moved to north america. i want to see HR fic where Ilya lives in a mcmansion with gilt and brocade and fake fruit bowls
Like I just think we need to make sure post-retirement Shane has a relatively safe hobby that is both enriching and challenging for him so that he doesn’t kill himself cave diving within one year. And I think that hobby could definitely be tying up his husband in beautiful knots and riding his dick while surveying his good work.
Oh my god it's Wednesday and I have a work in progress, it's a miracle!!!! I need all the affirmation I can get for this fic I'm working on for FTH, so here's a snippy for you that I'm actually feeling good about:
The loose premise is that a TikTok content creator is reviewing Shane's walk-in outfits and Ilya ends up picking Shane's clothes for a month, post TLG married era.
“What are they saying?” Ilya asked, craning his neck to look at Shane’s phone.
They were puttering around the kitchen the morning before their next road trip out west, and Harris had sent Shane a link to the video. He’d never had a Tiktok account before, but at this point, it felt like he had to get one just to monitor everything Tyler🏒🌈NHL+Fashion was saying about him.
“Weird stuff,” Shane replied, turning the screen from Ilya. “Well, this one guy who is clearly a Boston fan is complaining that he keeps talking about me. But most of the other comments are like, horny.”
“Let me see!” Ilya insisted, reaching for Shane’s phone, but Shane pulled it away.
“What does this person mean? They said ‘it twitched.'"
Ilya finally succeeded in yanking the phone out of Shane’s hand with a laugh.
“He means his dick, probably,” Ilya said casually, eyes sparkling with amusement as he scrolled the comment section.
“Gross,” Shane huffed.
“What the fuck, Shane?” Ilya asked, his smile disappearing and a grimace replacing it. “This one person is username ‘rail me Shane Hollander’ and he says ‘raw, next question.’ I am the only one who gets to rail Shane Hallander raw.”
Ilya’s thumbs started flying across the screen like he was writing a reply and Shane snatched his phone back. “You’re on my account, asshole! I can’t be replying to these pervs.”

hey so the "shane doesn't have trauma" thing is a) because he did not find his mother's body after she killed herself when he was 12, unlike somebody, and b) because his character arc in HR is about accepting his sexuality/identity while Ilya’s is about healing from his traumatic experiences so he can believe in and accept true love for himself, which is extremely basic romance novel roles. and then they switch for TLG! so Ilya has to figure out who he is to the world and to other people while Shane has to learn to believe in and fight for a happy ending again! isn't that neat!
one must imagine shane in a bathroom stall in the metros locker room right before a game against boston, headphones in watching the video ilya just sent of himself jerking off in the bathroom in the guest locker room along with a message that just says good luck tonight :)
