the mild adrenaline wore off and i am. surprisingly tired and spacy.

Jorge “Jay” Rivera-Herrans is the creator of EPIC and also the voice of Odysseus and he started this journey by documenting what he was doing on TikTok and YouTube, and actually got most of the cast by auditioning them on said platforms, so he’s been very generous and lovely all around in making EPIC accessible to everyone! His YouTube channel is under his name Jorge Rivera-Herrans. His shorts and vids that are not the song releases are full of amazing information about the music, the processes he went through, previous drafts, motifs, Easter eggs, all sorts of amazing and fun stuff that can make the second listen of the musical very rich.
You came in at a wonderful time though anon! The final ‘saga’ aka concept album of EPIC released in the end of December 2024! A majority of the cast came together on the actual island of Ithaca, the home that Odysseus spends his journey trying to get back to, and had a watch party of the songs and animatics that Jay commissioned! You can watch it below! I will, however give a strong warning, that one of the songs, “Hold Them Down,” in the final saga, while absolutely beautifully sung, deals with planning sexual assault by the Suitors. The animatic goes uh…a bit too hard in my opinion. I suggest to anyone watching this that they simply close their eyes for that song and just listen to it, as the imagery is definitely NOT just allusions to gates and hunted game animals.

The cast is wonderful and Jay is so very warm and just EXCITED to share this creation with the world, and is very clearly so appreciative of his audience and the community that has sprung up around EPIC. The release livestreams that came with the sagas before the final one are so heartfelt and he definitely cries more than once on those while thanking everyone. And every time, when Spotify hits a milestone of listens and iTunes ranks the albums, even if it’s an hour or so after the stream when this man has clearly not slept in 3 days, he sends out a short thanking everyone.
ANYWAY! Yeah! EPIC is amazing. I love it. I love doing rewrites for Inheritance Cycle/Modern Inheritance. One day I will indeed upload me singing my version of Legendary as a slightly squeaky voiced smol Arya. And one day I might just upload my attempt to sing the entire show all on my lonesome. But for now.
Go listen to EPIC. And if you like to have your audio accompanied by visuals, there are oodles canoodles and toaster strudels of animatics of these songs, as the community is so friggin TALENTED! Okay, it’s time. I’ve been putting off doing full laundry for like two months now, and the thing that needs the most washing is my mega giant comforter that doesn’t fit in any of the washers or dryers that I usually borrow at my friends houses.
Today…I go to the coin laundry. And that means I am going to sit down, away from my laptop and away from any other responsibilities, and be forced to read. This. Fucking. Murtagh. Book.
I won’t finish it. But goddamn it I’ll at least get further than a chapter and a half in one day.
Some of you already know, but I’m located in the lower portion of north-central Florida. It is currently very wet. It will soon be pretty windy.
I’m staying off my phone electronics so they stay as charged as possible without overloading the batteries with constant charging. I’m not coastal, and my area is typically an evac location for everyone else, so it’s pretty safe. I’m not in immediate danger and it should stay that way most of the hurricane.
To my coasties, be safe and be smart, turn around don’t drown, listen to your radios and don’t do what someone in my city did last hurricane and try to siphon gas from random cars in the peek of the storm because yes it is indeed Florida and someone will shoot you in the leg.
