Now i feel like an asshole for rehashing this given the comments i just got on a previous post but like... please don't spam like/reblog. I get that this is the funny blue site where liking and reblogging is like, the whole point.
But like; and i hate to admit this out loud because its so... stupid... but if this book series has tought me anything its to not feel ashamed of your trauma. i dont like spam likes/reblogs because i was harassed and sent hundreds of hundreds of messages in a very short amount of time on my very first Tumblr blog in. Just hearing the messages notification sound (muted for me since 2016) gives me a fucking panic attack, and seeing just a wall of notifs in my activity tab brings me right back to that day.
Its not that hard of a request to follow and the queue button works fine. i dont even like blocking people for it but i will if needed...
But please, just... dont spam like/reblog
Hey all. One of my closest friends passed away suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday. I'm not sure how much I'll be posting for a while, so just wanted to give you a heads up.
Life update: Hey y'all! I'm about to start in earnest on the process of moving. Over the next week, I'll be moving the rest of my stuff out of my old apartment into the place where I'm staying temporarily. Then in about a month, I'll be fitting my life into a few suitcases and a cat carrier (with cat of course) and flying from the US East Coast over to the West Coast. There I'll be making my new home with some old friends/adopted family who have kindly agreed to let me stay with them and even say they're looking forward to it. (And I believe them; I'm looking forward to it too.)
This is a much needed change and should improve my situation (physical health, mental health, social life, etc.) in a lot of ways. But it's also a big undertaking, especially when I'm simultaneously looking for a new job and dealing with the most severe autoimmune flare I've ever experienced. So my posting and reblogging on this blog may be haphazard for a while. I expect I'll still be on here a lot (especially when new episodes of Murderbot drop), but there may be less activity and some longer silences in between. (I am experimenting with making better use of the queue function, so we'll see how that goes.)
Basically, I don't know exactly what the next month will look like, but I wanted to give y'all a heads up so you're not surprised. I love Murderbot and I love this fandom community, and any going quiet is not because that has changed, but because I've got a full plate at the moment. So, yeah! Insert socially acceptable and preferably funny sign-off here. ✌️🤖💜
For no reason at all (/lying) just want to mention again that this is a side blog, and now and then I accidentally reblog posts here that were meant for my main. You can feel free to ignore anything I reblog here that's clearly off-topic. Or you can like and/or reblog it anyway—I'm not gonna tell you what to do. :)

In a month dominated by romance, we're making space for SFF on the ace spectrum
Personal: thanks to Medicaid covering mental health treatment, I'm going back to therapy soon! Currently trying to get in with a therapist who does some type(s) of somatic work, since I had such good results from the EMDR and other somatic therapy (constructed awareness) I was doing. A big part of healing for me has been not only reconnecting with my bodymind's authentic ways of feeling and being, but also learning new skills and awareness that I never got a chance to learn when I was growing up.
My recent therapy has gotten me through experiences I couldn't have coped with a few years ago, so I'm looking forward to getting back to work on the other stuff that's been coming up. (Like how long it still takes me sometimes to recognize when I'm feeling anxiety.) (Maybe because it's something I feel all the time more or less.) (Though I can recommend pure CBD oil as something that's been helping me feel more relaxed and positive (with the usual caveats of: talk to a doctor, make sure it's compatible with any meds you take, and buy from a reputable brand that publishes its quality testing results).)
Anyway, if I get to try any new types of therapy, I'll probably post about how helpful I find them. I know when I started therapy a few years ago, I really only thought of basic talk therapy (CBT, not to be confused with CBD oil haha) as an option for me. But there are so many types of therapy out there, and knowing what the types are and which ones might help can make it easier to identify a therapist who can actually address what I'm dealing with. So I'll keep you posted!
