Conspiracy time but sometimes I feel like awards shows specifically target Ateez because they don't lip sync and dare to be different. It's like they think "oh you believe you're above lip syncing? above other groups? get humbled then!" Because I've lost count of the times everyone else's performance was ok, but Ateez had issues with sound/lighting/mics/etc.

Mingi tried to get a backup mic but there was none. As someone else pointed out, a music show with malfunctioning mics and NO backup mics is ridiculous. Are they so used to idols not singing/rapping for real, that they don't even prepare for emergencies like this? Or do they know that pretty much only Ateez performs live, and they don't care what happens to them?

Mingi's case is particularly glaring because he didn't have the support of the backing track, so his part was absolutely silent because of his faulty mic. The others at least have the backing track to compensate for faulty equipment, but the rappers are fucked (most of the time, though sometimes they do have the help of the backing track as well, idk why this time they didn't)

At least people now have proof that our rappers don't lip sync I guess 😒 and that Mingi is an absolute pro, because he went backstage to ask for a new mic and when he didn't get one, he just went back on stage to continue his performance like nothing despite having virtually no voice (the mic worked at times and didn't work at others)

Normally, you know, I try to keep an even head. I try to be pragmatic and rational, you know, about kpop, specifically because everything about it is designed to make you insane, so as to make you spend money and attention on it.

But not today. I'm under some duress (insomnia x weird shit at work) so just for today, Imma make it worse.

So Mingi had that mike failure situation happen and (new to me information, so thank you! genuinely) no back up mike. Very upsetting. And embarrassing for everyone not Mingi - all the other singers and rappers who probably lip synched that night, the entirety of the tech staff involved in the production, KQ, Kpop professionals in general, the citizens of Seoul, LITERALLY EVERYONE THAT ISNT MINGI OR ATEEZ.

I went to instagram to find succor in my upset and I am confronted with... with THIS.

Soobin doing Choi San cosplay at Dolce Gabbana, whose previous fashion week thing the actual Choi San was unable to attend because KQ couldn't get its schedule together to accommodate his global ambassadorship.

It could very well be, of course, that D&G is the problem. That they only want Korean men to do this one hairstyle and this one type of mood, sure. And it could also very well be that Soobin himself wants to try a more mature look for this particular engagement. He mostly likely didn't have any say in exactly how he was styled.

However.

HOWEVERRRRR - Did the leader of Ateez at one point release a song that was widely reported as attacking Bang Sihyuk? Does Bang Sihyuk function as the ultimate boss of everyone who works on everything to do with TxT? DOES THIS LOOK LIKE CHOI SOOBIN DOING CHOI SAN COSPLAY? DID THEY PUT HIM IN STRIPE PAJAMAS FOR THE OTHER LOOK JUST LIKE CHOI SAN???

SIGH.

I’m still not sure where I’m going with it. The Nec Fasc case (especially the suspicion that it’s MRSA) will play a part in, probably, chapter three. But first I have to finish chapter two, which sits _almost_ ready on my computer since… Idek, since episode four aired? Or ep three?

In one them Al-Hashimi and then Dana asked Robby whether it was time to bring Langdon back from triage, or maybe, why was he keeping Langdon in triage? I want to address that in the Inconsistencies ‘verse, I want to have Robby answer that question, I want him to think about it. But I have to find my groove, y’kno.. At least I already know exactly what happened to Frank, don’t I? ;) Thanks to you. <3

Also. Initially, I wanted to write this story entirely from Robby’s perspective, but it’s not gonna work. I want others’ opinions on what’s going on, I want to see what Frank is thinking and feeling, so it will be my usual brand or multiple PoVs.

I want to write it, but for some reason this season wasn’t as inspiring as season one. *shrug* Also, I’m tentatively dipping my toes in another fixation, and I can’t do two fixations at a time, so idek what will happen. At least that other one doesn’t have any fanfics, like, at all. Not just no whumpy fanfics. Nothing at all. Zero. Null. And it only has two or three more episodes in this season. And then they will inevitably fuck up the whumpy storyline. Meanwhile PBall’s face still makes me feel things. So. Chances are Not Rational will not be abandoned. (keep kicking me, though ;)

A/N: This is a continuation of the fic I wrote last season, ‘Inconsistencies’. I think it would be best if you were familiar with that one, but if you’re not, or if you forgot, here’s a little reminder:

This is an alternative universe, in which Frank Langdon suffered a “devastating back injury” as a teenager, and Robby was his ER doctor. They stayed in touch afterwards and Robby helped Frank through ups and downs of his recovery, rehab, PT, college, medical school and so on. They are friends. (But Robby is Robby, you kno…)

Also, in this universe, Frank is married to John Shen and they have a son, Tanner. No second child. Abby is the name of John’s sister.

I think the rest will explain itself..

Oh. I do not know where I’m going with this. As ‘Inconsistencies’, I will write it as the show goes. I hope you come along for the ride!

Posted a new chapter of The Snakes fic yesterday ( On Wrangling Snakes and Other Leisure Activities. Didn't make a promo post, because it feels like such a niche story? Idek. I mean, people read it, and it makes me very happy that you do. But. I feel weird promoting it? Nvrmnd)

Anyway. I'm now juggling my other three fics and I should catch one of them, but I can't make up my mind.

I have a half of the next "Ain't Got Wings" chapter written. Not quite sure what to write next...

I have a half of the next "Not Rational" chapter written. Here, I know what to write next. Plus, I should already be figuring out the chapter after that one, because Ch 2 will cover episodes 2-5. Or 2-4? Hmmm, that's even worse, I'm so far behind! I think I should do that one.

But then, I also have the Big Bang story, and I'm at, what, 8889 words! It's not even half of the goal w-count. And definitely not half-way through the plot, so it may turn out longer than 20 k. And I have to finish it by the end of... I don't even know anymore. It should be finished already! And I do know what to write, but I keep getting stuck for reasons unknown.

Uhhh. The actual problem is that I keep circling through those stories for half a day and then it's too late to write anything, and then I'm disappointed in myself and then...

Shut up es!

Plans for the weekend:

finish scene #19 (of Specters). Or write a short scene #20, since that one moment from #19 feels like it should be a separate scene (also, because #19 is now… oh, only 2,5 k long.

clean up the mess of cut paragraphs that currently sits at the end of #19. Grrrrr…

finish Chapter 3 of Not Rational. And post it.

add a couple (thousands?) words to the new idea fic about… Mountains (Montana, lol).

maybe take a lookie at Black Wings. If I finish with all the Specters stuff.

maybe take a lookie at other Frank fics, or that meta, that i should add to, but I’m no longer motivated, now that my headcanon is actual canon. Idek. I won’t be able to fit all that into two days anyways, so…
