Photo-editing annoyance

not sure if it's an issue with Photoshop, or Windows 8 -- but, it used to be when you made changes to a pic & saved the changes (whilst viewing with Windows Photo Viewer), the pic would refresh on the spot. now, it seems i hafta close the viewer, and reopen the image to see the changes. annoying.
